i am happy with my bel STI. saved my *** numerous times. got screwed with laser once. you need to get a jammer to protect you on that front, but that's a big investment.
everyone gives thumbs up for Valentine 1
some of the newer gps ones seem handy to cut out false alerts if you do a lot of city driving

i got a k40 hardwired into the car w/ little LED's in the console and all buttons hidden.. its not bad but then again its no jammer... im going to upgrade it to add laser jammer i think next week.
the k40 front and rear pieces are kinda bulky too, i have the old ones tho.. figured by upgrading i can get newer ones without having to rewire the car.

I have been looking into getting the Escort 9500ci radar/laser diffuser. Heard enough good reviews that I think I am going to go ahead and purchase it. V1 is a good radar detector as well, but obviously wont protect you from laser.

I just sold my passport 9500i after two years of use, and ordered the V1, cant wait to test it out..
