Why did Porsche do this on the 09 C4S ?

Hey, JCBH nice ride!!! My cuz and I bought cars the same time from Pacific Porsche. He got a Cab just like yours, well, not exactly. He's already modded his car, ALOT! Enjoy your ride bro!

It, just as the dual-round exhaust tip on the S variants is just a cosmetic thing to show differences in the product line. The 4wd cars have that reflector on the engine cover.
You can always buy a non-4 engine cover, or wait until someone inevitably will come out with a primed strip that can replace the reflector.
Me, I like it.. but it depends on the color of your car.
If I had a choice, I'd have liked the Targa to not have the chrome/stainless roof-line trim on the sides... or at least give me the option of black. But we are not always given the choices we would like. Unfortunately for me, removing that steel side moulding is MAJOR work as I hear it is riveted to the body and requires the side windows be removed and the rivets drilled out (and then replaced afterward for re-assembly).

I like this piece and it has been a trademark of the recent widebody cars besides the turbos, and all of the 911scs had it as well as the 80s carreras and 964s.
I think it make the car look wider visually and is a nice styling cue although it looks better when it doesnt have the droopy tail lights.

Hey, Kiet420, what did you get?
Thanks for the comments on my car...I do love my new car...I have had several cars in the past 3 years, and this is by far the most enjoyable, day to day. I have had a 2007 V8 Vantage, a Bentley GTC and a Bentley Flying Spur, but ultimately got tired of driving them all (Bentleys were great for crusing, but not aggressively driving, while the Aston was fun for spirited driving, but not for cruising)...my wife got a Cayenne GTS, and once we had that and I started enjoying driving it, I got the 911 bug (once the 997.2 came out!!!). Enjoy!

I don't care for it all. Styling change in my book that does nothing for the look of the car. While we're on the subject, I don't care for the LED tail lights either as they look very rice burner to my eye.

I like the strip and wish my Carrera had it
Reference an earlier post I like the LED lights also. Very bright and functional warning others you are slowing to a stop. Hopefully this upgrade should save a few more 997.2s from being rear ended.

I think it looks great. My 2009 C4S in Silver makes the contrast look nice. My previous 2003 C4S in Silver looked better because the red reflector was the same size as the red tailights and it was better integrated, but this isn't bad.
