It's a throwback to the 993 designs, where it was quite well integrated because it was closer in thickness to the size of tail lights. OTOH, the material they used back then doesn't seem to wear well. Most I've seen have faded and/or changed color, particularly around the edges. A must-do replacement on those classics.
On the new car, it is quite a bit thinner and seems a bit incongruous as a design element where they contrast the size of the tail lights. Kind of 'stuck on' rather than 'designed in'. It does seem to look better on paint shades where it blends in a bit.
But Porsches' are funky cars, with a unique shape and design cues. This is just more funk. Perhaps you should take your time before painting it. You might get to like the distinctive design.

I'm guessing you are one of those casual PCar buyers. Has the money, not really a Porsche fan per se. Did you actually change your tips to C2 basic tips?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I would love to see some more pics..... any more? The reflector on the 993 is perfection IMO but failed on the 997.2, just seemed way too narrow to me. If they did a better job in the design would have loved it as I believe the 993 wide body (reflector and all) is the best looking 911 variant design out there so anything going back to that design is a step in the right direction.... if done right.

Painted reflector, de-badged it seems.... etc... IMO 10X more interesting then a boring stock car to see on a forum. More pics please....

Yep.....pretty casual....but I do track, concour, and daily drive my cars.....most are pretty far from stock......most mods occure before the cars get to my garage (including the newest 09 C4S Cab for the wife......my site http://www.drivingfanatic.com/
