Cool site, great cars. I've seen that Strosek before, always like that one.

I agree the 996 C4S looked much better with it.

Funny, my brother-in-law and I had the same conversation a few days ago on this. As someone mentioned in a reply, its a design element from previous C4Ss. My bro-in-law had the 996 C4S and mentioned to me he hated the new 997 C4S with the back reflector.

He was more pointed in his comments on why he didn't like it. He said due to the fact that the new back lights drop on the bottom, and then there is a point of it going back up to connect with the horizontal reflector creates a weird design tension. Sort of an 'just slapped together' kind of fit.

On the 996, it was much more seamless with the back lights. But on the 997, it does keep in tradition of past C4S so it must count for something.

I think it looked awesome on the 993 when it simulates continuation of the brake lights. But in the 997.2 it looks kinda out of place since the brake lights are bigger...

Agreed.
Replacing that rear piece of the hood is around $3K as I recall......only other fix is the paint.
I'm OK with the paint (for now).......and some have comented the extra horizontal line is really not all that bad.

I actually like it and it's one of the reasons I bought the 09 C4S.

I actually really like the new strip, I would love to have it on my 997.1 C2S... It kind of looks a little weird with the droopy taillights, it doesn't exactly line up. But it is just my opinion... Like I said, I wish they did the 997.1 like that, it would look amazing with the 997.1 taillights since their bottom is flat.

If you don't like it, I wonder if a 997.1 dabbed would fit the 997.2. Then, those who have 997.2s and don't like it, could trade with 997.1 owners who do.
