I love my Lab and I love my Cab but my Lab will never ride in my Cab.

 

Off topic - great dog you have. I have it's brethern, a Vizsla. Amazing dogs.

We have a "hammock devise" for my wife's X5 that straps around the front seat headrests and the rear seat headrests. Covers the seatbacks and everything but the door panels. Don't know if you can rig something with one of these or if they make a devise specifically for a Cab or not but its worth a "search". Ours works wonderfully for the X5 and is so easy to put in and take out.

Anyone know where I can find a 6" thick foam pad that I can slide into the floor well behind the front seat? This pad would be about 4'-0" wide and 4'-0" high. When I make a sudden stop my dog will be thrown against the pad instead of the seat back.

Does anyone make a seat belt harnass for a dog?

 

Ok, I went a bit overboard but my dog goes to work with me every day. I have a coupe with a small golden, 70lbs. She can't fit in the back comfortably so I went to http://www.buyfoam.com/Store_Start.aspx bought a 12" thick foam pad, removed the rear seats and then cut the foam to fit perfectly so the seat buckets were level across the hump. I then purchased some 3M clear plastic to cover the passenger side door jam. Because she tends to put her head between the driver and passenger seat and rest her feet on the center console I bought some rubber foam (like used in cupboards or toolbox rubber mats) to protect the console from scratches.

I will take pictures when I have more time.

 

A dog gets bounced around without restraint and in the summer needs water due to the open air.
Many pet stores sell auto harnesses.
Dog's nails are also rough on the paint at the top of the door, if you have the window down.
