It may be equivalently inappropriate to comment here, but it seems wholly premature to have cited the potential error on the part of this service company in broad public without trying to settle it privately. As an executive in a high-tech company, I really dislike when customers cry foul without first using standard channels to address the problem.
The web is a powerful tool, and accepting that 'sunlight is the best disinfectant', these are also tough economic times and calling foul prematurely could have an unnecessarily deleterious effect on these folks. The old 'it take ten good comments to undo one bad' comes to mind and I think that it's in the interest of all enthusiasts for the better vendors to survive these times and this can't be helpful.
I have no knowledge or affiliation with The Collection people, and certainly have no issue with calling them out if you had failed to get support via private channels, but this post really did seem like yelling 'fire in the theatre'. Not sure this thread should have been allowed to remain on line.
Separately, despite my comments, I sure hope you have a quick resolution to this problem. And it sounds likely that you will.
Done with soapbox and apologies if it was a bit over the top.

If you are certain that it happened there what makes you even more certain that no one cares (stated in your first post) ? Why not just talk to them ?

again sorry!
This is a REALLY great response, particularly with the cause undetermined. It's a testimony to you, your boss, and the dealership - hope that everyone in your sales and service area sees your post and remembers when they again need product or service.

Even though you use big words and come across as smart, I have to disagree with you. haha. If someone dented my car while it was at the dealership or service center, I would expect them to come forward and admit they did so.

I really love when people go out of their way to make things right though, just like this guy at this service center has offered! This is the type of company that will survive through these hard times! I wish people around here were that helpful!!

Totally agree with you - except for the big words part. And I'd be fried if I thought that a shop put a mark on my car too. In fact, at a different level, the first time I took my Prius in for service, I got it back with two small dents on the roof. The dealers service shop refused to take responsibility and I stare at those marks every time I get in the car.
My only point was to have contacted them and work it privately before taking it public. Bad news often spreads more quickly then good. And we live in a world of guilty even after proven innocent.
But following the post, the fellow who stepped up and said that he'd do his best to set it straight was spot on.
Still don't get the 'big words' thing...

Rich is the greatest . His enormous effort and time is the backbone of my (amazing) car . His shop as well as that dealership is everything I would ever want for my driving experience.

Sorry I misinterpreted. And no, I'm thesaurus-free. It's just an odd genetic disorder. Runs in the family

I just bought my car 45 days ago ,and i just notice there is a crease in my rear quarter panel .Not sure how it got there ,can't go back to the dealer because it been 45 days since I took delivery of the vehicle .Shouldn't take the car since there was small scratch on the car and the driver seat look worn and this is a new car .Would never buy a car from this dealer again, the service really s#ck there. If you can get your quarter panel fix without painting let me know cause I need to get mine fix to.

Rich -
It's guys like you who share their enthusiasm and knowledge who enhance the ownership of these great cars . The dealership benefits so greatly from your participation . I know that you spent hours installing that Gt2 clutch conversion that made my beast even meaner . I also know that every time I go there I enjoy the visit .

Usually management is less visible to the customer in the day to day happenings but it sure is nice to know that the staff of technicians place their time and heart into these cars.

As for the original poster . I hope his dent is repaired and maybe one day he and I can sip coffee and talk about our next Porsche .

It may actually be sooner than later for me . I have been considering buying a Cayenne as a gift for someone . I only hope I can afford it and that the price works out but I do have time to figure it all out .

I, for one, am often glad that they "air these things out" in public, as long as it is a last resort. The "take-home" message that I have seen here is that there is a guy who loves his car and got a ding at a dealership, and the dealer stepped up to the plate (publicly, which takes guts) and will make it right. Everyone looks good. But, I think it would have been significantly less fair, if the dealer was not on this board and had no chance to reply!
Of course, I own a business too, and would have been really upset to see a post about me before I had a chance to respond in private.
Either way, I am a glad it worked out for you and the car will be fixed!

Dent Update...

I went to the Collection this morning. I want to thank Scott(Manager) and
Rich(Foreman) for their willingness to resolve the issue.

The Dent Wizard specialist looked at the car and he said it cannot be pulled due to the location. Scott offered to have thier bodyshop repair it.

Unfortunately that would mean repainting some of the quarter. Dont know if its worth it just for the dent.

Yrralist, I noticed you knew another dent specialist here in Miami, do you have his contact information? Does not hurt getting a second opinion.

Again, the Collection has earned my business for at least trying to resolve the issue.
