Brumos U Driving School
I've attended the Brumos U driving school in Gainesville Raceway this past weekend. It was an awesome experience especially with Hurley Haywood Chief Driving Instructor teaching my group. At the end of the day, we droves down the drag strip. My C4S performed decent, R/T .222, 60' 2.315, 1/4 13.812, MPH 104.21.

Congrats and great picture, Gadgetman.
This is run by some guy from North Florida and in the past you had to purchase your Porsche from Brumos to get into this DE; every once in awhile Hurley is there and sometimes you get to ride a lap with him driving. Now, with the decline in sales, any member of the PCA Crown Region can sign up. I'd imagine that pretty soon anyone with a few hundred bucks might "qualify".

I believe the minimim age to particpate is 18 years old. From what I hear, this DE is only for those customers that purchased their cars from Brumos.
There was 3 road courses that was set up through out the day. Then all the students participated in a ride with Hurley in the 911 Supercar. That was a blast! Finally, we all did 3 runs on the Drag Strip.

You could check with your local tracks, PCA, POC, or other driving club as to the minimum age requirements.

That's what I surmised in my cynical remark; Brumos used to advertise "1 hour of instruction with Hurley Haywood" with any new purchase, which I thought was a hell of a pitch. I do know that he is NOT always available for these Gainesville soirees, and if he's not the $600 is a little salty; PCA DE's would probably offer more plus get you going on a progressive series if so inclined. Another good alternative in central Florida is private instruction with Ron Zitza at Zotz Racing.
