997S vs E92 M3...Thoughts/Opinions
#16
As a daily driver? M3. Smoother ride, hi revving V8 (I really can't get past that - it sounds that good), and it blends in with every other 3 series BMW, so there is only attention from those that know exactly what it is.
As a weekend track car? C2S. It has Brakes. You need them.
Just my opinion. I'm not wearing a fire retardant suit. I chose neither.
* edit: I love the PDK in the C2's.

I was consdiering an Enzo vs. a E92 M3. I am going with the M because it is faster, has better brakes and sounds much nicer.

Join the local PCA, they do great DE programs.

How is it faster out of the box? Considering the M3 is lapping faster than the 997.2, a MKI is going to get SPANKED unless it has the upgrades... that you seemed to need.

You also forgot that for the price on an Enzo you could have 15 E92 M3's...14 to crash when the brakes fade at the end of the straight away and into a tight corner, one to get you home.

Are you still here? Doesn't your dad want his car back yet? Or is your M3 on your Xbox that might be the only way a M3 beats the 997 (1 or 2).

I have a 997tt .
I had a 997S .
The only things I like about the M3 are :
1) Space
2) Narrow body = less ding exposure . Great daily driver .
3) great sound system
Outside of that there is no reason to buy an M3. The 997S will out drive it , provide more fun , and is more refined and sophisticated. The run flats on the M are awful . BMW free service is a headache . The gear box is sloppy . The car is heavy, bloated and feels like a Mustang with class at best.
BTW --I like it more these days than i used to . I am going to keep it . If I had to buy all over again I would buy the Porsche .

The car is not heavy or bloated and does not feel like a Mustang, lay off the Porsche kool-aid. You sure you are not driving a 328? Weird that the world's automotive press feels differently.

As for the mods on my car, they were an attempt to more competitve with the 997 GT3. I have since accepted the fact that I should have bought the GT3 instead when I had to replace my first 997C2S, but there were very good reasons that prevented me from doing so.

I would never own an Xbox, I have better things to waste my time on, like have conversations on line with ignorant trolls like you.

That is right, your car was not competitive out of the box, and would get TROUNCED by the DCT M3, period. You don't want to see it, but that is the reality. That does not make the 997 a bad car.
