Toss-up between HRE P40's or Champion RS171's. However, at $5,000 +/- for a set of 4, that is really to much money for me at this time. Considering that I like the O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT's about 90% as much as the HRE and Champion, and the O.Z.'s come in at under $2,000, I'm 95% positive I'm going in that direction now.

I know I can keep my eye's out for used HRE and Champion wheels for about $3,000 - $3,500 but the more I think about having to wait to find the right set of used, the hassle of a private party shipping them to me, the hassle if the wheels have a problem, and the peace of mind buying brand new, I'm really looking at buying new now.

I really like the look of the O.Z.'s. The main reason I was looking at HRE and Champion is because that is all I hear people talk about (their reputation I suppose) and didn't think much of any other brands (may naiveness I suppose). Damon says they'll have the O.Z.'s in stock by the end of this month so looks like O.Z. for me.

I think the oz are the way to go. You have given it much thought and I'm sure you will be happy with them .

Dilemma Solved

Ok, after much debate, the final decision has been made (please disregard previous post above). Just ordered a set of 19" HRE P40's in brushed finish from Dan at VividRacing. No going back now as the VISA has been run

Dan was great to work with and has made things easy so far.

Will post up pic's once I get them on.

Thanks Larry. Got to say that your post here did help with my decision:

"The forged wheel has strength . The wheel purchase is like buying a car an engagement ring . It's one of those expensive things which make no sense . After all the car comes with wheels .. why can't they be the right wheels ? But they aren't . They are good enough but not great enough . So to blow 5+K to have better sounds expensive and silly . But once done .. it's worth every cent .

There's really no easy way . I think you ought to buy yoir favorite wheel and if its priced to high for the moment .. wait awhile . It may be worth the wait
."

Thanks again.

I ordered them two years ago but I fairly sure this is the size . They are 19x8.5 front and 19x11.5 rear.
and am using the stock Turbo tire size . If someone has that handy it would help. It's dark in my garage or I'd look.

I asked if those were replica wheels, guy who replied to my email said they're OEM. If true, that's a great value.
these wheels are definitely replica wheels. I asked wheel enhancement once, the set goes for about $5K. There are a lot of manufacturers that make replicas for great prices.

I personally am in search of wheels for my 911. I am considerin iForged, which is a lot cheaper considered to HRE and Champion wheels. iForged has Monoblock Track series that are light and cost $3,200 per set!!!
