Fabspeed CAI installed...No more CEL!!

Hi guys, I posted awhile back about installing the Fabspeed Cold Air Intake on my '09 C4S. After the install, my Check Engine Light would pop up. I took it to the dealership where my buddy works and we got "air flow at idle" fault. He changed the MAF, and the light popped up again with the same fault. He told me to take it home and drive for the weekend, cause the fault was not major. After driving the first day, the CEL went off, and has stayed off since. I took it back to the shop yesterday so he can plug it to the PC. He said there was the same fault, but it was a "soft fault," as he calls it. He says maybe these newer cars take longer to adapt to the greater air flow, after resetting the "soft fault" there seems to be no more issues!!! He also installed the AWE Cross Pipes for me, sound is great especially over 4000 rpms, nice popping sound when gears change. Not that noticeable at start-up, but I like the sound, not too loud. As far as the hp gains, I can't really tell, but it does seem like shes breathing better! Hope this info is useful.

Thanks for the report back...glad this worked out to be nothing major. The 2009 Fabspeed CAI sure looks sweet and looks to be built very well.

Fabspeed Intake - is it safe to use foir engine?

Is it safe to use in winter and dusty roads? how are the filters protected like the OEM unit? Do you have to regularly replace or oil them? Can you easily put the OEM unit back on at a later date?
