For the amount of money you are looking to spend, I can't see getting the C4S over the Turbo. The X51 package costs way too much and delivers way too little. Drive a Turbo and a C4S back to back for a comparison. Both are awesome, but they are two different animals entirely.

He called up Atlanta for me, and apparently, they have confirmed that the MY2010 911 Turbo will have the Tip replaced with PDK. I removed my deposit for the C4S and placed it on a Turbo. The car is a November build with a December delivery. Guides aren't out yet, so in a few weeks, when they do come out, I'll option it out and go from there. I think I'm going to be much happier this way - I get a car thats a model up for the same price, you can't beat that. Thanks to everyone for your help.
This is very exciting . Have you posted this on the Turbo forum as many there are wondering when PDK will be avaialble . I was under the impression that a new engine would have to replace the Gt1 dry sump . Did yoir salesperson confirm this ?

2010 will have PDK and DFI.
That is the only definite news for now.

That much I was able to get for certain, the part that I am somewhat unsure on is the dates of when that will happen.

DaveC is infamous around these parts
Last I read was Turbo debut at Frankfurt in September. If PDK is confirmed it's going to be the 9A1 block w/ DFI rather than a modified GT1 block. I suppose it's still possible that the TT w/ have the GT1 derived engine, but why not start with the GT3? The 9A1 TT will likely have stunning performance but I'm sure the old guard will chafe at the departure of the split case and dry sump oiling.

Because I have been tracking this news for over 2 years, I can tell you my opinion, I believe the turbos will have build dates in 09 but arrive sometime in Jan 2010. I also believe that will be the allocation and each dealer, if they get 1, will only get 1 or 2. Then more will follow into spring. That is my opinion (based on some fact). Again, I know nothing for sure, but my dealer has said it is coming, PDK and DFI, and even cabriolet builds up front. But the spec sheets are not out yet.

The 2010 delivery makes sense w/ a Frankfurt launch in 9/09. This would be c/w previous Porsche new models shown at Frankfurt, delivered in Europe by November and then in the US by January/February of the next year.

I just sold my cherry 06 C4S Cab because I thought I wanted the C4S with PDK...I test drove a Turbo and that was that. PDK is quick and alot of car but when you look at the Money your going to spend on the x51..the turbo is a proven entitiy to HP Bliss. If you had a 150k C4S and had to sell it in 2 years the drop would be mindblowing...but as all say on this board...it's your $$$

Larry, do you think there will be a run on the 09 Turbos if the engine infact does change?
