Just tinted with Huper Optik

Just had the windows of my 997 tinted with Huper Optik 35 by Tom at The Art of Tint in NYC last week. Tom did a great job and the windows look terrific. I'm still HATING the wheels though. I've been keeping my eyes out for a set of used Techart Formulas or HREs, but no luck.

Pretty car. Looks great.

Shocked you don't like the Carrera Sports. 11.5 inch rears with 305s/ fits niiiice ! You'll have no problem selling them if you decide to offset cost with a new set.

Thanks - I know that I am in the minority with my dislike of these wheels but they just don't have an aggressive enough appearance. I also thought that they would easy to sell but the offers that I've gotten have been pretty laughable.

Those are the nicest factory wheels Porsche has. I had them on my 06 and loved them...a little hard to clean but they look great.

Your car looks great!
I just bought the exact same car (a 2008 leftover) with the same wheels and am thinking about tinting with Huper Optik (you need it here in Arizona).
Look forward to seeing what the new setup looks like when you get your new wheels.

Agree about best looking factory wheel. Just replaced my Carrera S IIs though myself. Arizona sun is a killer - even with milder than usual summer this year. Formula One ceramic tint is working well so far too. Post pics if you replace those "ugly" wheels!

Nice tints, I agree on the wheels - not a fan at all. The Carrera S II wheels are 10x better IMO.

Great looking car and the tint on your color car looks perfect.

If you decide to go aftermarket on the wheels, Dan at Vivid Racing (a sponsor on these boards) can take good care of you and offer you a nice credit on your wheels.

I don't agree. The new Carrera S wheels are the worst by far. They look like they came right offa Corvette.

I am thinking about tinting mine as well. I love the visibility of my painted seat backs from outside, so I am still debating how dark I want to tint my windows.

I have those wheels on mine and I like them a lot. I agree they are not as aggressive looking, but it adds a completely different feel to the car. Reminds of the classic Porsche look...

Thanks, now every time I look at those wheels I'm going to be thinking Z06.

To each his own, I like the Sport Design Wheel as well, those are pretty nice.

Tom did my car too. He is a very polite, friendly and articulate individual. Highly recommended for those reasons and the quality of his work.
