Hey Vexed,
Appreciate the update. Yeah, I have no reservations about Dwayne and Jon making it right. As Jon said to me, " no worry, we'll make it disappear for you" .
I just found out from my Insurance co that the actual Police report did not contain any written statement reporting who's at fault, because it's considered a "minor accident", and no injuries were noted with either party. According to the police dept, it's not their job to figure out who's at fault when there's no bodily injuries. I guess that's why we have "No-Fault Insurance" as mandatory coverage huh?
Well, I can only hope the OP is an honest person at this point. We'll see.
Jon said that it'll be done by end of month or early August. Well before the Labor Day Concours event in Sept.

I keep hearing about the Labor Day event, sounds like a big turnout.
I'll be sure to look over as I run by Acme but I think for now your car is hidden.

Yeah, I was rather surprised and perturbed, but it's HPD policy .
So, this particular Labor Day Event is going to be big as it's PCA-Hawaii's 50 th yr as a Club. The PCA-National President will be coming down with his family to celebrate with the Club. So they're trying to make it a special event.
Appreciate you looking out for the car. I believe it's inside now like you said. Parts are on their way.

No fault only applies to medical bills, it just means your insurance pays the initial amount up to a threshold before you can claim against the other party. Property damage is the old fashion way. I am surprised the report does not at least describe what happened and have some fault factors checked off.

I guess the lesson here is that in all cases, tell the officer you are injured, even if its just a sore wrist to force these knuckleheads to make a friggen ruling.

I hear ya. Sometimes, State/County/Union policies just does not make sense. It adds fuel to the fire of stereotyping state/county union workers as a bunch of lazies who puts in minimal efforts for their job and still gets paid.
Oh well, at least the car is getting fixed and will be looking new again .

Well isn't that a beauty. Someone was at fault and violated some vehicular regulation - it IS the police depts job to assign fault. No one else can. Now they may not choose to, by policy.. as is the case here.. but I'd say they are shirking their responsibilities.

Another Update:
For those of us who are jaded by society, there's hope for honesty. Just got a call from my insurance co. The OP's insurance co will accept full responsibility as the OP admitted to backing into me.
Everything is good. Karma is awesome!

Good to hear, now they pay and you don't need to front your deductible. The OP and her insurance are probably glad there was not more damage and that there was no injury to you which can much more $$$$.
