Quick review at 4k miles... 997.2 S Cab

I don't know what it is about this car.

Between 2-3k miles, I wasn't overly impressed with the cab.

Now at 4k miles.

This is my favorite car.

It does not have the power as my other cars or the attention factor. But it is so much fun to drive on the streets.

I think I just got used to it in a good way. Using the sport mode more often and pushing the corners even more when I have the opportunity. I love the fact the car feels so tight and you can zip around town. The low level RPM torque is great. Just flip up the RPMs and it just moves.

I am really enjoying the solid feel and the function of the interior. The best part of it is taking the top down. We have been having such great weather, and having the top down makes driving a blast.

The PDK is just amazing and very responsive. Just thought I would share my thought.

Nothing beats the feel of the rear-mounted boxer engine and its go-kart dynamics.

Handling

The GTR handles like it's on rails. You can power-slide it through a corner and then it just goes right back easily with a little of correction. The car is so easy to drive, it's very easy pushing the limits. Throwing it around the corners is the best part.

In comparison with the Porsche. I have yet to push the limits. The Porsche appears quite solid but it's not a car you want to throw around until you know exactly what you are doing.

Transmission

They are both solid. The GTR appears to upshift faster and the Porsche down shifts faster. Sometimes the GTR lags when your downshifting.

At first the car just felt slow. I used to modulate the throttle and expect the car to move. In reality you got to blip the throttle to get the RPM jumping and then move. Another way, is to leave the car in sport mode and drive it in the power band.

Also. Over time I got used to the cars ability to maneuver and take corners better. So now I am confident just powering through the little mazes in traffic.

There are just some cars you got to drive until you appreciate their qualities.

Third thing. Getting a really good tan these days.

I appreciate the versatility of the car. It can be driven hard and responds extremely well, or it can be a perfect boulevardier for top down summer evening drives along the ocean. Obviously the Cab is not a dedicated track machine, but it is an extremely capable and entertaining 911 nonetheless.
