Damn it! Lost another one.
So I, like many of you, am searching for a good condition used 911. I started looking about 2 months ago when prices were much lower and more cars were available. I'm pretty picky so I only go after cars that meet all my requirements. The first one I went after was an 06 C2S with 12K miles, decently equipped, CPO'd and had the Champion F77 performance package. Dealer was asking $53K. Dealer and I talked once, and then I called him back to do the deal... "sorry, sold the car this morning..." Damn it.
Then I came across this gem yesterday.. http://audiporsche.sunmotorcars.com/...hp?carID=27780
Thought it was too good to be true. Alas, when I finally got ahold of the saleman... car was sold already. Damn it. Now all the other cars on my watch list seem "lesser" now that I thought I found a "new" car for used car $.
Anyway, just wanted to vent. Also thanks to Larry for his advice, and to the other members here that recently bought their cars for posting the details of their quest.
If anybody knows of any other cars worth considering that aren't advertised on the usual outlets, please pm me.

How about the one Larry walked away from. Described here in this post:

Across the country from you but if it's the right car, only about $1,200 to ship it to you.

That 08 looks great !!! . In fact if you decide to bid on the car I posted you might want to show him what you just lost in order to stake your claim to a better price. Although the car I posted has a few more options it's also older and is nearing the 10K mile point. After seeing your car I believe my 55K offer was spot on .

Holy cow, an '08 for $63k??? If they are too good to be true, they probably are, but hell with 60 miles on it, how can you go wrong. What a steal that was. With sport seats no less. Bizzare price, really not reflective of the market.

Yeah, almost wonder if there isn't/wasn't anything fishy with that car. Anybody have any details on it or know anything?

I called on that one also first thing Monday morning. They also had a new 2008 C4S for $70K. I would have bought either one on the spot.
I'm super pissed too - I've been watching like a hawk until this past weekend when I spent Fri-Sun at the Portland Historic Races. Worth it I guess, but I would have loved to have either one of those cars.

My local dealer also had a couple of '08 997S's. Been sitting on their lot for over a year. May have just gotten to a point that they had to dump it. If anyone wants to try their luck, check the dealer in Greenwich CT.

So true!
I'm not sure what's going to happen to Sunset. They have what seems like a "ton" of $100K+ 2009's. At some point, they have to discount them, don't they? IMO they need some competition. If I were only a multi-millionaire I'd open up a dealer in Vancouver, WA.

I'm sure you know we never see these kind of deals with the two dealers local to us (and the few North of us) like this. One of our two dealers has a 2008 C2S Cabriolet that was punched back in July of 2008. They had brought the car in in January of 2008 (so they've had it sitting for a year and a half). Has 100 miles on it. Sticker at $100k, for sale at $90k, and for me, and only if I acted soon and because I was refered to them by a friend, and only because they had to ask all the way up the management team to the owner of the dealership, they would "let it go to me for" $86k. Uhmmmmmm, yeah, thanks but I'll fly down to California and buy my car down there.
