Question straight pipes

i have straight pipes from my stock cats to the tips. how is that performance wise? i know it sounds real good and loud but if i were to add some aftermarket cats what would that do to the sound and performance?

Changing out your OEM cats for any of the aftermarket cat solutions would certainly add a little more power however the acoustics will definitely open up.

AKA the car will be really load

Absolutly a 200 cell cat would make the car a lot louder that it is now. Forget the stereo or cell phone while in the car.

If you track the car I can kind of see straight pipes but for the street you are now losing low end torque and opening up the exhaust even more should cause you to lose more torque.

Since you are in florida you should come over to Sebring with Chin Motorsports or either PCA Suncoast or Goldcoast and get involved in DE's.

If the car lives at 4500-7400rpm you will see a slight increase in power with straight pipes and a 200 cell cat.

Do you not have noise pollution laws in Fl.? I had Fabspeed MPB's on my car with the AWE 200cpi cats and X51 headers, within 4 hrs. I got a warning that the car was to loud and if I didn't fix it I can be hit with a fix it ticket.

I'm borderline now with the Borlas and the rest of my setup.

If you want loudest, then you really want a cat bypass. Straight pipes from the headers!

Awe or Fabspeed are great products. I have a set of Fabspeed cats that I accidently melted the core by running too much race gas through it. Thought about removing the core and using as a cat bypass. Never got around to it and its just sitting in storage. FYI, cat bypass may throw a CEL, but is nothing to worry about...

Can you believe I got pulled over in Kalifornia by the airport (LAX) while a 747-400 roared by for my car being to loud. I couldn't even hear what he was saying to me he had to wait for the KAL flight to go by, and I get a warning for excessive noise. That's like issuing speeding tickets at the Indy 500.
