Price of the X51 powerkit for the 997.1's?

Expensive . I will estimate it at nearly 20K . Maybe a bit less . It's real nice though.

Yep, this has come up before.... estimates anywhere from 15K to 20K.... not worth it... go with the aftermarket or install everything X51 you can minus the internal engine stuff....

One last thing -- an afterthought --if you do it make sure its done with a skilled technician . There's an old thread on the Turbo forum and there is a technician in your area who received high praise on it. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...y-service.html

You would be better off adding some kind of forced induction system for that kind of money. More HP anyway.

You can get 95% of the power increase using the X51 kit minus the expensive heads. You can run the intake manifolds, throttle body and intake along with the headers and get 95% of the power increase. You now throw in software along with some 200cpi metallic cats and you have the makings of an engine probably stronger than the factory X51. The only internal engine parts that the X51 has is the heads. The heads have some bowl work done along with a stiffer exhaust valve spring for the X51's 7400rpm redline. The intake manifolds and everything else is pretty much a bolt on affair. One word though..if you do the intake manifolds it may be cheaper labor wise to just drop the motor instead of trying to do it with it in its proper place.

Jason without the heads, PSE or headers you are probably in the $3k range. I had the part list that included everything but the heads, PSE and headers.
The heads were darn near $10k...for maybe is at best 5rwhp. Porsche should offer a core charge and then drop the price of the heads. They are just OEM heads with a little bowl work, good valve job and a stiffer exhaust valve. You reuse the OEM cams...

If installed by Porsche tech and they are Porsche OEM parts...I don't know. For the fact it wasn't the whole kit maybe they won't warranty it.
Something you may want to call and find out.

I feel that if one is going to upgrade with the X51 he's ought to do the complete setup and since it is an OEM kit it probably should have been an ordered car . Porsche does place the X51 through some extensive testing in all climates and conditions . It also makes sense that Hp claims are going to be conservative .
The aftermaket is the main competition and theres a variety of choices at all types of price levels . I picked one and have no idea if the the fastest or not but I liked several things with this :
1) The Tubi exhaust has such a beautiful fit and finish . I also happen to love the raspy sound .
2) The F77 Carbon intake is so beautiful taht I even continued the carbon fiber legacy with mt Turbo opting for the Werks 1 .
3) We can split hairs over whose Ecu works the best but mine was done at Evoms and I loved it .
This is the video clip that i stared at for days , over and over and i just had to get get this for my car.
