I thought "he's warming up to the PDK."
Now for your thoughts on the 2,000 mile break in.

Now for your thoughts on the 2,000 mile break in.
After 8 of these cars this is the yrralis1 break in guide -
1) drive slow and learn the car and allow it to learn your driving style .
2) an occasional sprint on warmed up engine is ok .
As for the 2000 mi break in recommendations by porsche--
It certainly saves the manufacturer money because those who think inside the box will try and reach 2K miles asap and pamper the car . If warranty is 50K mi that's -2K out of the way of hard driving plus the timeline .

Thanks Sharky . Given the posts on soot potential and the fact that Gf will be using the car too as a DD I will leave it stock for a bit but when its time ... my eyes place yoir exhaust as the number one choice by a huge margin . It may take a while but not forever .

you sure you're not going to miss the Civic?
1) The VTEK engine is reliable . efficient, burns minimal gas, and generates nice Hp at low cost.
2) The gearbox has more precision than the M3 . Honda made an impressive box .
3) all cars depreciate but a Civic Si will drop maybe 10K in three years .
4) service and insurance is cheap
5) It can be modded
6) Crash safety is good.
7) It's unique , Finding a new 09 coupe amounts to one in each dealership for the most part . It separates itself from other Civics .
So what if it's fast anf furious ? juvenile? boy racer? big deal ? weren't we all young once ? So what's wrong with a car that places a little hakuna matata into driving ?
For 22K msrp Honda put out one heck of a little car .
Ok so it's not a pdk 997.2S but one can buy 4 Si cars and have his own Honda tribe .
PS -- I don't miss my Si but I still have one Si left.
