Hey, I was wondering whether anyone has installed aftermarket Sport Bucket Seats on their cars.

OEM seats are too expensive ($13K for 997 GT3 CF Bucket Seats, & $6,5K for 997 GT2 Cf Bucket Seats) and I really don't like the 996 GT3 seats, no offense...

I was thinking of getting the Recaro Pole Position in Black Leather. Recaro makes the 997 GT3 CF Bucket Seats, and the 996 GT3 seats, so it is high quality for sure.

I know if you take out your rear seats and put some bucket seats you would save around a 100 Pounds... So it would improve the overall weight drastically.

Anybody has done this mod (any other after market brand is fine as well), any opinions etc.???

P.S. sorry that the attached picture is an M3, I couldn't find any pics of the Recaros on Porsches. I really don't want to start any debates again

 

There quite a few good options. You cant go wrong with Recaro.

You can rep Euro GT3 seats for about 2K BTW.

I know you said that you don't like the 996GT3 seats, but I have a set in my 997, they make a huge improvement over the *** seats that came with the car.

Don't discount them, they are very comfortable and fit the car very well.

 

The replica seats are never the same quality as the OEMs, so I am thinking of going aftermarket.

As for the Cobras, I have seen some beautiful ones but they are really expensive... The Recaro Pole Position is about $1,300 each in Full Leather.

Ed, I knew you had the 996 Gt3 seats, sorry about the comments. I don't like the huge bulky top of the seats... They look too big...

sport bucket are somewhere near the 7K price range and the only color they come in is black UNLESS ordered with the car from factory.

 

im putting sparco corsa seats in mine, its a competition seat for tracking

going with black cloth, its better for the track and be=reathes better than leather

function over fashion!

 

Hey Larry, I would rather spend the $7k on Suspension, Brakes, Plenum, Ecu & Intake... or simply get the OEM Factory Aerokit...

Mo, I know that you track the car so you want something practical. HAve you looked at Status Racing Seats? They have some nice seats for some nice prices, they even have Alcantara seats. I don't know if Alcantara is hard to keep it looking new...

Anyone have Alcantara Seats? Do they get worn-out quick?
