Turbo (modded) vs 09 C2S comparo
Drove them both today .
1) The Turbo --Man oh man that modded Turbo is an intense monster . I have never seen anything with this power . The Tubi race exhaust cranks out the sweetest sound (not too loud, not too soft and crisp) , those Brembos can stop this thing from warp speed , and the EVT700 is the most amazing work of art (Thank you Evoms !!!!!). Planted on the Pss10's with Gt2 sway bar and dressed up in full Techart attire it does not shake one bit . Throw on the Hre comp wheels and it's a masterpiece.
2) The C2S - In manual with PDK it's a shift experience like no other . Upshift and downshift is rapid , precise and efficient. The normally aspirated engine is seamless . The car is light and nimble and has the finesse of a gymnast with enough power to turn the road into playground of driving excitement .
The Turbo is more like a jet and the C2S has more of a skateboard ability turn on a dime and the other has to glide into the turn . Both are different both are fun . The more practical street car is the 997S . The lip won't scrape , it calls less attention . it causes more of a stir . its narrow body won't be exposed to dings as easily, and it's downright fun to drive. The Turbo is the dream car turned into reality . It fullfills every juvenile fantasy of having the ultimate bad boy machine . It's understated yet bling . it beats most of the other bling cars , its reliable ... and on a roll it's in a league of its own . Third gear turns a modded Turbo into being untouchable .. hence the dream . No "fast and furious" want to even mess with it .It's presense is enough and that's a good thing because maturity means having a fast car and enough resistance to drive it slow.
You want practical . You want the track . You want to be less ostentatious -- the 997S .
You want to remember childhood and reflect on being the fastest kid on the block. You want no doubts . That's the Turbo .
Both different. Both great. Both special.

I agree, the deal you got was too good to be true. I would have jumped at it too. A GT3 may be in the cards for both of us one day, until then we will just have to suffer with out current toys
Excellent writeup, thanks so much for sharing!
I personally have a soft spot for the Turbo, just something about that boost spooling!
agreed . It's much like low level flying except the mods and exhaust give it a more immediate response (reduced lag) and enormoys power .
Jumping to 700 Hp added a new dimension to the car . With the Turbo the modification capabilities are unreal . Some have said to me taht they woild even fear driving it . The stage 4 clutch is not the easiest thing to engage (although mine is converted to non power assist Gt2 clutch to produce a better feel) and there's this brief moment before feeling like being hurled out of a sling shot . It's that moment of lag (very brief) that's the scariest . It's analagous to how this guy must feel like when he looks down at 30 seconds at the top of this wave. That's the modded Turbo.

Great report and thanks for sharing. It´s a must to own such cars at same time and be able to test drive them both whenever you want or what mood you´re in. I´m sure after you spend more time behind the wheel of the 997.2, new driving experiences and feelings will be ad to your reports.

Great write-up. Having owned a 997.1 C2S prior to my 997.1 Turbo, I can honestly say the enjoyment factor of driving my Turbo is definitely greater. Both are great cars, but the raw power the Turbo offers is truly addictive. I find myself looking for excuses to run errands so I can get behind the wheel of my car. I can't help but grin everytime I punch it..:-)
Your comment about the "fast and the furious" types is spot on. Behind the wheel of my 997.1 C2S, I had all sorts of those types who would try to goad me into a race. Not so with the Turbo, as they know they wouldn't even have a chance. There's a great deal of satisfaction seeing them cower in my rearview mirror...;-)
