can scuffed wheels be repaired?
Today as I was parking my previously pristine 6 month old 997 I heard the sound of metal against concrete and immediately knew I had carelessly hit the curb. I was furious at myself and my rim now is scuffed pretty deeply for about 1/3 of it's length. It is very unsightly to say the least. Is there any way to fix this short I springing for a new wheel which I am sure Porsche wants an arm and a leg for?

Wheel repair should run you about $100 a wheel. A few wheel shops even offer mobile service. Post some pics so we can see how bad the rash is. Worst case scenario they may have to add metal. (cost your around $150)
Good luck

Any good wheel specialty shop (ie. Wheel Enhancement in L.A.) can make your wheel look like new unless the gouge or blemish is really deep. Most likely would require the removal of the tire and then a repainting job for the wheel after it's repaired.

The mobile $100 repairs are not good quality. You want to send that rim to a wheel shop that does a proper repair, including striping the paint and repainting it. It should cost around $250. Wheel Enhancement in LA is a good bet, but there are others.

They can be fixed . Gustavo (former service advisor) opened up a wheel repair shop . I have his number somewhere if you want it .. just not on me at this moment.
Also my Turbo wheels are for sale . I am not dealing with the sale myself because I really don't want to hassle of being a used part salesperson. But here they are and
(edit) the price has been revised . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...CA:MOTORS:1123

Larry that would be great. Please post Gustavos' number when you can. I even googled and found a site that shows step by step how to do this:

It looks easy enough and the Wurth paint precisely matches the Porsche wheel. has anyone attempted this on their own?
