After hours mufflers
#2
I've had both but never on the car at the same time. The AH pipes are loud and aggressive enough for me with stock cats. I would guess the the combo of sport cats and AH pipes would sound even more like a cup car. In respect to performance, probably would add a few hp up top too. Def. not for the faint hearted!

Michael I ran the MBP's with the AWE cats and it was awesome. However, within the first day of driving the car (actually 4hrs.) I got a warning for excessive noise. I went back to the AWE muflers and now I have the Borlas. The Afterhours muffles with the cats will just be a tad softer than the MBP's, but if you have excessive noise regulations on automobiles in NY you may want to reconsider. My setup now with the Borlas is pretty loud and I would say just below the AH mufflers.
I would run an exhaust that you can run the sport cats with, this is really the only exhaust part that adds any significant horsepower.
Video clips of exhausts really don't do them justice..the AH mufflers are loud and proud. I had an issue though with paying $1100 for what is essentially 2 tiny glasspacks with some tubing and no tips. They were my 2nd choice though..

I think that an exhaust setup for $1100 sounds like a pretty good deal. How much was your setup and what did it include if you dont mind my asking?

You can get Borla cans for around the same price but it comes with nice tips. They are actual cans not just some tubing with 2 small expansion chambers welded in place (basically glass packs) I'm not knocking them as they were my 2nd choice. My whole setup with the X51 headers, AWE cats and Borlas (bought the Borlas used for $700) came in at $2500.

I have the AH mufflers on now, and will be installing AWE 200 cell sport cats (thanks Bara!) in mid August- I'll let you know how I survive, and will certainly post impressions and vids.

OK, I have been running the AH Pipes with AWE cats, and it's very loud, and on longer trips is annoying. I am considering selling the AH pipes and trying a set of Borlas.
I loved the AH pipes with stock cats, but with the sport cats, the combo is too loud, even for me.
