In your initial post you stated "Tubi style". In light of all the other great points mentioned by others, if this is some kind of "knock off" pipe that could be your problem??

Tubi Style is the proper name of the company. People just call it Tubi for short.

The new Tubi exhaust has reduced backpressure plus is lighter . The way it sits right above the rear axle has the reduced weight in an area beneficial for performance.

I have never installed a Tubi exhaust that didn't just add immediate full range power EXCEPT the one time a Tubi tailpipe was defective . It was bent in shipping and it was noticed by my tuner instantly.

Every exhaust installed I had the ECU remapped but I also understand that there are those who prefer to keep the ECU stock

BTW -they sent me a pic of one they did on a 997.2 . The exhaust looks amazing .

As noted, try disconnecting the negative terminal of your battery for 2-3 hours, to reset the short-term memory on the ECU. This won't cause you to lose any chip you've done, just the short-term store, which is what the computer "learns" about each driver and system. The delta is small, but could be what you detect in the seat of your pants.

One caution: lower your windows before doing this. The automatic feature which lowers windows 1/4 inch when you pull the door handle will be disabled, and so if you open the door during the process, you won't be able to close it again.

Good luck, and let us know how this reset works for you. I am adding AWE cats to my system shortly, and will do this reset for sure after I install them.

You can't really use the butt dyno to judge an exhaust...maybe you lost some low end torque.

At my last track event another instructor and I did a little drag race test on the back straight at Sebring. Bother of us have 09 Carrera S cars with PDK. He has the full Tubi system and I have the Fabspeed side muffler by pass...just leaving the center muffler. My car pulled him by a car length. We came off turn 15 together at 70 mph and he counted to 3 and we went.

Thanks to everyone for your input....I took it to Porsche today and they hooked up the car to their thingamajig computer and said everything tested fine with no faults....they then test drove it and said it felt OK to them......I am getting the feeling it is just me.

Odd thing is that no one asked me about or mentioned the enhanced exhaust note

Opps thanks for the correction turn 16...we got side by side in what I call 15a and exited 16 at just 70 or a little under...he held up his hand and fingered off 1-2-3 and we went. We worked this out before hand.

Larry, they really do not say....all it does is eliminates the 2 side mufflers and I just use the center muffler. Exhaust routing is very simular to the Cup cars with the rear center muffler. The car sound really good at higher RPM's. It is not too loud for the street but it is loud. I am hoping someday that a company comes out with a great center only muffler. I mostly did this to reduce the weight in the rear.

I've put an intake and exhaust system on my 350Z and it lost a substantial amount of low end. However, the car felt like it pulled all the way to redline (instead of stock which kind of died 1000 RPMs below red).

It really os hard to tell without dyno testing before and after on the same dyno (because even that can vary) . Most think their exhaust is great at first because it is louder . With Tubi the sound is not necessarily that loud . It's more raspy and that what I love about it. In fact the note can seem soft to some who prefer a deep burbble(sp?) like PSE.
Let's just say for the sake of argument that your exhaust went up or down 10 Hp . How can you really notice ?

One thing you do have is one of the highest quality exhausts . Although most associate Tubi with Ferrari I really think it does Porsche a lot of justice . .

This Fabspeed exhaust sounds incredible .

I just can't get beyond the polished fit and finish of those Tubi's though . Although I have not driven one (yet) I am guessing that the Tubi would have the typical rasp sound that isn't that loud and that';s why i think it might be easy to think it has less power .

I just installed Fabspeed cats and mufflers and got pretty much same initial feeling as you expressed in this post. Waiting now for next morning with unplugged battery - will see how it will end up.

What was your experience later on? Have you just got used to loss of torque or have car regained it after reset? For me it is truly a dilemma right now - 95% of the time I drive in 3K-5K RPM section so any sluggishness in this area feels highly annoying. With stock setup I was getting as immediate kick after pressing accelerator and today after exhaust install my very first feeling was that this immediate response was definitely subdued (if not practically gone).

I was quite surprised actually, initial feeling was that I suddenly lost an entire improvement car got after Softronic flash.

Thats interesting.. I have a 997.1 Cabrio with tubi and the car pulls/feels exactly same as stock but sounds much more aggressive. I'm about 600-700 miles in with the tubi and i'm quite happy with it.

PS: JMAN your TA tips are freaking sexy man. I wish they made something like that for the .1
