Thanks for all the input, folks.

I've looked at tons of photos, and I've seen the Misha GT2M rear wing on many 997 narrowbodies, in person, too, and think it looks great.

I feel the GT3 wing definitely benefits visually (and of course at speeds) by being paired with the GT3 front bumper, whereas the GT2M wing doesn't need a revised front bumper for visual balance, and if I wanted to add one later it would pair well with a GT3 front, or even a less conspicuous front such as the TechArt front bumper add on, which would actually work better for me given steep angles, etc.

AJ997S is infamous around these parts
I am also leaning towards the GT2M wing over the GT3. It's killing me inside not going OEM however. I'm getting a OEM GT3 front bumper put on this weekend. I'm just worried about stability at high speeds when the two mismatched items are coupled together.

But, that would only be at very high speeds.

1. I'll tell you why I prefer the GT2M wing: it looks a part of the car. The GT3 wing looks like it's about to slide off the back, like something that doesn't quite belong there. Perhaps because it sits so far back? Just my opinion, I certainly like it, and don't want to irritate people who have and love theirs. But the GT2M sits better on the rear, and visually seems to be a better holistic fit.

2. Stability at high speeds: are you regularly driving over 140 mph? If so, yes, you might be right to be concerned. However, my understanding is that "normal" driving (which I take to mean highways at 70-85, with occasional bursts over 100mph) pose no issues with just the rear wing.

I have 'topped' the car out a few times. I would just like to know that straight line 180mph 'ish' everything is working the way it should. Even if I only see that speed once ever again in this car. Just knowing it's safe gives me peace of mind instead of guessing 'oh no I'm getting close to 135mph should I let off?'.
I aslo agree that the appeal of the GT2M is that it sits closer to the rear window instead of way back over the rear bumper, makes the 997 look beefier and more compact.

Stability at high speeds? You probably get more instability by rolling down your windows or pop open the sun roof at those speeds.

I hope no one will be doing 180mph with a sun roof and windows open.

Cattman, you and I discussed rear wings at Hennesssy that day I met you, and I remember you were not a fan of the GT3 wing then. I have yet to do a wing. I want a factory wing and I like the factory wing but it's is large.

As far as worrying about not having a front GT3 bumber upsetting the balance, the Koni challenge cars seem to prefer a rear wing as oppossed to no rear wing. I checked the rules and ground clearence has to be 3 inches. Probably why no GT3 front bumber. You must have to be going on the other side of 150 before the front lightens up anyway.

FWIW, I bought the GT3 bumper and added the Cargraphic mesh (overpriced but I didn't want to role my own). Did the install (of the mesh while doing the center radiator) myself. Easy job. I would also strongly suggest the mesh if adding the bumper (and actually all bumpers should have screens).

Just added the Cargraphic screens to my car today. Will try to post some pic's up later. Matches pretty well with the mesh on my rear bumper (Rinspeed).
