Damn . . . I might have to retract my 911 comments. The new GT3 RS is called a 911 so I guess it's 'relatives' (labeled as a 997) falls under the same umbrella.

I think you are still confused. The Carrera, Carrera S, Cab, Turbo, GT2, and GT3, GT3 RS are all 911's. If they are from 2005-present they are a 911 with the chasis design designation being 997. Then there are the 996 chasis cars (1999-2005) which are also all 911's in different configurations (carrera, cab, turbo, GT2, GT3 etc.) and so on........The GT3 RS is a better 911, but ours are still 911s, so I shall wear my badge with pride.

Therefore you have my blessing to adorn your 997s w/ 911 script.

Ehhh..., you got yourself a 911, dude - check it out: http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/911/

Also the Heading of this Forum gives a clue away:

"997 Current model of the 911 C2, C2s, C4, C4S, Targa and Cabriolet Discussion."

I have a "911 C2 / 997 Gen II" for the long name...or something like that.

I think I prefer de-badged unless it's a GT2 or GT3. Those models have bragging rights...

Your badge looks great. And it will not chip over time. I've had mine for two years and still looks great. As for the "S". It might not look good if you add it on. It would be off center. You would have to remove the 911 and incorporate the S and re-center the whole thing. The 911 looks awesome now without the S. It's a personal preference. But if you decide to add the S. You have to redo the whole thing. It will bother you in the long run if you don't. 99% of the guys here would agree.

Is this the official badge (Part #911) that's now showing up on the online configurator(German site) for the 997.2?

I did the samething as AJ997S.

For the superstitious, 911S literally sounds like "going to die" in Chinese. 就么么死

My car was originally ordered without model designation, so I just peel and stick mine on.

But seeing the adhesive backing they used is identical to the ones on Mercedes, it should be really easy to get off with some dental floss.

You just need a blow dryer, dental floss, some Goo be Gone and car wax. Once you remove the Carrera with the Floss I just gently used my finger and a little goo be gone to remove the 3m sticker stuff left over. I also waxed the are a few times witch seemed to take away any left over areas. Just make sure you use something to remove the wax before you re apply the new badge with the goo be gone of windex etc. The whole process took me less than 30 minutes.
