Removed the Carrera S and added a "911" Badge...

What are your thoughts on a black car with red 911 numbers? My car also has tinted black windows and tan interior.
I've already done the exhaust and plan to soon do the airbox and ecu/dyno... the guys here in Atlanta told me my car would be quicker and more powerful than the Carrera S when they're done with it. I was "almost" tempted to get an S designation will I will surpass the performance of the S model.... but, deep down I don't want to be a poser and realized an S badge on a true non-S car would be ridiculous. Sorry for my moment of weakness...

Anyone that is cheesy enough to put a GT3 badge on a C2 deserves to be publicly ridiculed.

Eric at Bumper plugs specializes in painting. Mind as well get him to paint the letters for you if you're buying it from him.
I tried to match mine to the calipers, but being that they are so far apart I don't think it matters.
Clearcoat certainly is nice, but most touch-up paint are glossy enough as is. Just put on multiple coats to get that glossy look.

I was thinking to install them, pull half the paper down, light it up, stick the top edge of the numbers first... then remove the paper from the bottom half and your done... this is how I would install them. BUT, if you're going to paint the letters... can you paint them still on the adhesive tape/cardboard sheet that they come attached to? I was afraid of paint pooling at the edges and not looking clean when you peel the paper off.
To save $60-70 bucks, I'll paint them with Red Duplicolor myself.

Here's another thought.... when you get the letters, they're already on adhesive paper, right?

It's easy to paint. Keep the adhesive side paper on and just spray a light coat to avoid dripping or pooling at the edges. Then let it dry for a few hours and then apply another light coat. It should it turn out like OEM. Just make sure that you find a place free of dust and wind so you won't have anything sticking onto the wet paint.

I am trolling with two ideas, spray painting or to cover with vinyal sticker/tape? I have PCCB and my car is all black with aero kit. I want to had some yellow accent to match the brakes. I am thinking silver "911" with yellow "S", what do you guys think?

I looked into an OEM, prices vary from 99 (bumper plugs) to 140 (stealership), that in chrome. Black you can find for around 30.
I did saw this in a brand new 911, not sure if it's a series or the stealership changed (look at the rear light as well).
I'm going with a chrome enamel from testors, it gives a very nice chrome look, after a couple of layers...

Any idea why my dealer only sells two versions:
Crome - 325
Silver -215
I just want the brushed one that replaces the carrera S logo that is there.
