997.2 exhaust
Sorry if this is a repost, but I dont think it is...
Im have seen/heard fabspeed, fvd/brombacher, sharkwerks, and Tubi.
The only video from tubi was a 6 speed user. I am looking for more video on the tubi and more sound. It didnt sound that much different than a cold start in my own garage? So I would love to hear it under throttle and in car.
Anyone have any direct experience with any of these exhausts and can speak about it? Thanks in advance. I would really appreciate videos from users.
As I said, I have watched the fabspeed and sharkwerks videos like 50 times each and Im still having trouble making a decision.
Thanks everyone.

Check out the video from Rennsport-1 on this forum. They have a new very cool center muffler. The car sounds awesome plus by removing to 2 side mufflers you are taking around 40-45lbs off the rear of the car...not to mention the shorter and straighter exhaust route too.

I will... I'm stopping by their shop on my business travels this coming week.

I can't wait to see the final verdict of the new center muffler system. If the new system pass emission test , no "CEL" and reasonably priced, I will be in line for one.

The system will certainly pass emission testing and does not trigger any check engine lights. Pricing should be available mid week. Im sure you will be pretty excited to see what the pricing works out to be

Anthing you do after the Cat will not trigger a CEL. Right now I sort of have a system simular to the upcomming Rennsport-1 center muffler. I bought some Fabspeed side muffler by pass pipes adn just use the stock center muffler. 7800 miles and no CEL and the car runs great. My way is a little loud so I am interested in finding a nice balance and hope the Rennsport-1 center muffler solves this. I want a lot more sond than stock and I want more power too especially in the 5000rpm to reline range because I do a lot of track events.

I am also interested in improving the exhaust sound and I almost pull trigger with the AWE center muffler bypass pipes. However I don't want anything too laud also. I am also curious to see if the new system produce more HP.

I just installed a FVD. At first I thought it was a little loud. No CEL. After a tank of gas it settled down. No drone. Had my car at the dealer this weekend and the service manager said it was the best sounding Porsche aftermarket exhaust he has heard.

How ironic......the service manager at my dealership said the same thing about my Tubi system.

I am certainly interested in your new center muffler only design, especially if the price is right. I am primarily interested in a nice deep/loud sound with no drone and don't want to spend the big bucks for a Tubi or FVD set-up. I have listened to all the other center muffler delete options (cross-over and X-pipes like AWE, Sharkwerks, and Fabspeed) and they just don't sound loud enough. I would get the Fabspeed Side Muffler By-Pass (like Mdrums has) for the nice loud sound and weight savings but I don't like the drone problem. So, if you really can get a nice deep/loud sound out of you center muffler only design, with no drone, and you can also get some added HP/Torque in the process (which should come easy with that straight-thru design), and you can manage to keep the price low, then you will definitely have my business and a lot of other 997.2 guys as well!! I look forward to hearing what the price will be and any dyno figures for HP/Torque gains.

Bypassing mufflers with 200 cats will almost completely eliminate back pressure and I think it is not what stock engine was designed for, but, well, it will be hellishly loud if you will like that. Removing stock cats makes car significantly louder so if you heard any aftermarket mufflers only on stock cats - it does not make it justice.
As I listened to it while working on it - x-pipe cats alone do sound as real track car sounds with no cats and direct pipes out, it is not civil at all and it is unlikely anyone can drive like it as you`ll not be able to have a conversation in a car. And I believe muffler bypass pipes will not reduce that roar at all. Fabspeed mufflers on other side do work perfectly - you get bass, and do not get much roar until 2.5K RPM. Then it is civil and you have to raise a voice just a little bit with closed windows inside at 3K RPM with engine under average load.

Sorry to threadcrap, but how does the 997.2 sound with stock non sport exhaust with high flow cats? I've heard people say it sounds louder and better while others have said it sounds like trash and you need new mufflers / exhaust to get a good sound out of it.
