Thats actually not bad. At 10k miles, you could have gone through 12 quarts of oil and still be within allowable consumption for the 997.2 engine.

I find it to be pretty random as well - yesterday when I shut her down, she claimed to be 1 "tick" low. Today, FULL - let her rest for 15 minutes, took another reading - FULL.

I'm at 2K miles now and have added a quart - probably around 1.2K or so.

The good news is there is quite a range between OK and FULL, so I think I'll just watch it and if it gets a few hits of -2 "ticks" over a day or so, then add 1/2qt and keep an eye on it. I do keep 2qts in the velcro holders in the "boot" for when it's "Mobile time".
