What do you think of their list and sale price? When I was looking at this dealer... they would not budge at all on a 2006 C2s which had 45000 miles on it coming off lease. It was so disappointing to walk in and to see that car covered with rock chips which had very poorly repaired by someone who got overly excited with the touch up paint! Most important advice to all and to the OP... is to see the car in person and obviously drive it and check the DME. What looks like a really good deal may not be when you are looking at the car up close. The aforementioned lease disaster was even seen reasonably up close by a friend who thought it looked good. My heart sank when I saw it. I think you'll look at a car much more carefully if you're thinking of buying. Good luck to the OP.
Norcal is a hard pricing region . In fact I look at prices in the northwest and cringe sometimes . I remember looking at cars with Joe Shark and he ended up in So Cal .

One thing Norcal does have is the lack of complaints with customer satisfaction and that goes a long way . You have been happy with your car and I have a friend in thar region who was happy with his.

The white 08 looks nice but keep in mind that 10K more and one gets a discounted 09.

I feel a fair offer for the white car is 64K but that just my opinion and it's not near the 71k ask price .

The leverage on offering 64 is that new cars can be bought at huge discounts .

The car you have has to be the cleanest DME of any used car I have ever seen . In the current market you could probably get at or near what you paid for it . I agree with you that it's a keeper .

I also agree that a person must inspect any car he's ready to buy in person . I am not sure if dealerships touch up photos but a simple scratch or chip is something that one sees in person . The interior must also be inspected . A friend of mine (who did not listen to my advice) just bought a used BMW and when he came over to show it to me I saw a scratch , an option he wanted missing, and an interior that smelled like cigarette smoke . His telephone would not pair and he was fustrated raising his voice at the voice command . I felt really badly for him but wished him well.

I agree. In the end, my local dealers unwillingness to go below their sales price is what allowed me to find what I was really looking for. I think I would have been unhappy had I bought that 2005 Speed Yellow C2. Their argument for not going below their "sale price" was that the preowned market would hold it's value as allocations dropped. Low 80s gets you a 2009. Amazing... unfortunately a lot of the dealers are quite unimaginative with the colors they offer. Forget reds and blues. I never thought I would want a black car but if detailed perfectly... it's a color that's hard to beat but you really have to stay after it.

Your story about the smoke is scary! I saw a 2006 imola yellow s4 at the local carmax. Looked impeccable on the outside. Sadly... the interior had a large gash on the plastic surrounding the center stack (no big deal I thought I could replace or repair it). The car had about 25000 miles on it and was a fun drive. Was ready to get it for my wife when I decided to drive it again with windows closed. And then you could smell the faint hint of cigarette smoke. Turn on the vents and it became more powerful. This was 2 winters ago. You can just imagine how bad that smell would be during summer. No way you can get it out. The salesperson kept on insisting that he couldn't smell it but I knew better. One thing about that kind of dealer.. they really don't know the cars they're selling. I was informing him about the features of the car and the engine (no it's not a 6 cylinder, dude!). They kept reducing the price and some smoker probably picked it up at a bargain!

Two weeks ago my local dealership had three aqua blue cars on the floor . My favorite was the Turbo with natural brown . In fact a forum member bought one with black interior . The exterior color looks amazing in the sun with the P40's in brushed. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...rbo-again.html

It seems like standard colors tend to get sold first and particularly in California black cars face the dust of a dry region . I do notice in your region black cars are almost always available .

After I sat in my friend's used BMW I did ask both a dealership as well as a body shop what he can do and there is a substance that many detailers use as well as some type of small machine which can suck the smoke out of the car. I coild never buy a used car from a smoker . I just feel that if a person can't take care of his own health how can he care for a car? Maybe it's psycholical that I would want a healthy used car. .

Most Porsche owners either don't smoke or if they do at least spare the car from it. Upon trade in miles and car condition are big factors but I was also told that if a Porsche is traded in which smells of cigarette smoke the trade in value gets hammered down.

Wow... amazing. I have never seen an Aqua blue in person. Blue has always been my favorite color. My last two cars including my beloved 98 Midnight Blue Integra, and my current Interlagos Blue M3 were/are amazing colors. A turbo in that color with a natural brown interior would be eye-popping . I love the Carmona Red. It's a long term keeper. Who knows maybe a blue turbo a few years down the road when I'm satisfied that my 529 accounts are appropriately filled In the meantime, the boss has already specified a yellow Audi S4 will be our next purchase (sadly that may replace my M3) as soon as my 5 year old can sit without a booster.

You said it. A lot of these cars are coming off lease. A lot of people will not even notice the touch up paint. I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought that C2s I was referring to. It was so bad that a total body respray would be in order. The dealer admitted to me that they bought it at an auction and that it was coming off lease. Yikes. I would have taken a much closer look if I was that dealer. Then again they probaby paid very little for it.

How is the service at Niello? Easy going? Trustworthy? Quality workmanship? I've had a very good relationship with their Audi store but have yet to go to Rocklin with my 997. Thanks in advance.
