Talking Just installed Plenum, BMC filters & EVOMSit ECU

Hey guys, just wanted to share my personal opinion on my latest mods. I recently bought a new 2008 C4S, coming from e60M5 I wanted more power..... My first mod 2 months ago was the GIAC ECU, after 2 weeks I returned it, I didn't notice any difference. After reading lots of reviews on the Plenum, I figured, at 100% money back I might as well try since I'm dying for more power! I spoke to Bryan, at RSS, went there on Wed. & installed EVOMSit ECU, IPD Plenum & BMC Filter. First of all, what a great crew, very helpful & really they are car enthusiast at heart. So after about 1.5 hours, I start her up, and right away I noticed a difference on the throttle response! Then I"m heading up 405, and kept up the rpm in in 5K/6K range & all I can say is . what a difference, the car is much more responsive & you can feel the power, it pushes you back in the seat.... I am very happy with the results! I can't say for sure if the ECU made the biggest difference or the Plenum, I think the combo works great. I would definitely recommended these mods to anyone!
Thanks again Bryan/Mike!

I'm glad to hear that A lot of people on the forum have been debating that ECU was a waste of money, I always thought that it wasn't... Eventhough +25HP is a ridiculous gain from just a software...

You put the best combination for power on your car! Now you should do the full exhaust system You will see great power gains from that as well

I was under the impression that aftermarket software tunes the engine for 93 octane, but since 91 octane is all we get in CA, the software wasn't really effective. Am I misinformed?

There is a separate file for you guys with 91oct. Contact Alex@Sharkerks. He has done tons of 91 oct files for the 997 NA

These are GREAT upgrades for the N/A motors... I think the jury is officially no longer out - Intake work + proper ECU programming is quite effective. Now it's time for an exhaust... More air in along with more air out will equal an even bigger smile.

Congrats on the new 997.

Hey Axxlrod, the nice thing with the EVOMSit software is it's tuned specifically for 91 octane as well as 93 octane specific files. 91 is what we get here and in AZ so it's very important to us You can always try it and if you don't like it go back... Nobody does but hey

With these mods, I gotta ask if there's a noticeable effect on the bottom end torque meaning around 2-4k. Before you got these mods, did/do you ususally drive your car in the 5-6k range? And if so, was there a noticeable change in torque/power? I know this discussion has been drowned out so this is just for the OP. I spend most of my time in the 2-4.5k range so that's where i'd want the most power in change.

I would say at any rpm I feel the difference as soon as I hit the gas, the car just feels much more responsive...... As for power, I do notice it more on higher rpm's.

Do all intake mods listed but do not change stock exhaust to high flow cats/mufflers if you are mostly interested in 3K-5K RPM gains.

My experience was quite different..I felt I lost no tq. anywhere and the car from 3500rpm on up was much more responsive.

This most definately has more to do with the programming. I always recommend a flash to go along with an intake/exhaust combo on the N/A cars - I've had the best results with the EVOMSit software.
