What is a good price on a '10 CS4 build slot?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2010 CS4 build slot and I need to get a baseline on discounts. This will happen in the next 10 days. I'm not thinking about the possibility. It's happening. I will keep this forum posted as I go thru the process of delivery.
Based on time of year, economics, and car type, what discount should I expect on this order? I understand that build slots are not as heavily discounted as floor cars and that 2010's are less so.
It will be a buy, not lease. I already left one stealership because the sales guy said that Porsche buyers don't feel economic pain and discounts on '10's are small if any. I smiled and told him to tell his sales manager that he just "walked" a real customer. He was suggesting MSRP which I won't be part of.
Thanks guys!

I just ordered a C4S with an October build date. The dealer charged $6,500 over his invoice for an MSRP speced car at just under $110,000. So I am out the door for $111,000. Not great but respectable. I spoke with several dealers and frankly none were really willing to go very far with discounting if at all. My purchase was with Frank Donatoni the sales manager with Porsche of Annapolis MD. He traded with another dealer to get the build date for me. Hope this helps. Doug

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm actually surprised - 3,6,8% seems really really stiff. I can't believe you can't get 10% on a $115k car in this environment but ok. I'll keep you guys posted.

2010 is going to be tough to negotiate . In your favor is that the C4S has a lot of wiggle room optioned out . If your dealership is already quoting MSRP it implies that they are not eager . Keep in mind that a highly optioned C4S is what dealership fear the most because it's a car they can get stuck with if the deal falls through .
Are you sure you don't want an 09 ? Same car .. just cheaper .

I was told recently by my dealer that their allocation for 2010 911's has been cut drastically. They told me that they will only get 3 per month! With that few cars I wonder what the deals will be like on the 2010's?

I'm pretty particular on equipment/options on a car at this price level. The 2 dealers closest to me LOVE to order silver on black PDK's for some reason and not a single car has a rear wiper.
I also wanted leather dash and only 60% of the cars have that option. So by the time I get a C4S with 6-speed, rear wiper, and leather dash, there are maybe 3 cars in my state - and not one in the color I wanted.
So I get a $110k car and it's some of what I wanted - but not ideal. I can have them do a network search but of the 75 options on a 997, I might be able to get close but not exact. That's what I'm up against when it comes to buying off the floor.
