sway bar options...

I have the H&R bars, no complaints at all with them and no squeaking. I say if you want to add sway bars, then do it! They are inexpensive and will reduce the roll on your car. It's your money and your car, learning how to drive it is great advice, but this mod isn't going to give you a false sense of security on the track. I ran 1 day at the track in my first 997C2S, when I bought the second one (my current car) I went out and bought the Damptronics and H&R bars and loved the improvement. I was told by a lot of people that I should wait and learn the car, guess what I learned the car with the bars and CO's, and then I added some more cheater parts.
The choice is yours, short of Alex, Casey and maybe a few others on this forum, people on this forum have not been on a track, and they still have these mods.

ya there really is a mixed crowd here. Quite a few wanna-be's, but also some gems that really know their ****. I have been getting a lot of advice in person at the track from trackrats that are there every weekend religiously! They all say the same thing, LEARN YOUR CAR! Its unbelievable what your car is capable of!!
I did a write up a while back about my first AutoX and basically it said... If Porsche REALLY wanted to sell their cars, they would take the prospective buyers out to an AutoX event and have an instructor give them a ride in the potential car. You will instantly buy that car without a doubt!!
Most people think that you have to mod your car like the pro's you see on TV to perform at a track...or have the latest Carbon fiber drive shaft, or in my case sway bars... WRONG! My car had a few tastefull mods on STOCK tires and STOCK suspension and I (myself driving with a passenger) was within 3.4 seconds of an instructor in the same car without a passenger!! I dont NNEEEDDD these mods, I WANT them!

Nice work keeping up with the instructor, but on a 10 second course, 3.4 seconds is a long time!
If your want the bars, then get them. It isn't a huge mod, and you will need to relearn your car after you get them, might as well start the way you plan to go.

I also rec'd lots of advice to get more track time not mods. I decided to do both!
Mods I was most cautioned about - Hoosiers (R6), Coilovers and springs(Motons and Eibach), sway bars (Tarrett Engineering) - love them all for DE's and I too learned the car with the mods like NorthVan997C2S. A good starting point, if you haven't done it yet, is a track alignment for the type of events/tracks you are doing.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy driving your car with its mods as much as I enjoy driving mine.
