Gremlins on PDK 997.II Config?
#6
Have 4000 miles on mine, no problems at all.. But my cousin on the other hand bought his '09 C4S Cab PDK the same day as I did, has lots of problems with his car! First it was an "Emergency Trans. Run," then the car kept dying on him, they said it was a high pressure fuel problem. He just picked the car up 2 days ago after being in the shop for 30 days. The day after he was driving on the freeway and the car crapped out at 75 MPH. He was lucky enough to get to the shoulder, so the car was towed back the the dealer... Now they say it's a LOW pressure fuel problem, basically they really don't know what to do. He got a call from a Porsche Rep. yesterday asking him what he wants to do.. I think they're either gonna buy it back, or give him a new car! He has 2500 miles on his car, bought in March, and the car has been in service close to 60 days!!! I should have more info on this in a few days.

I owned a PDK C2 for 6 months before becoming very bored with the transmission and overall driving experience, but the only problem in 6500 miles was a bit of an unpleasant thump on "manually" performed downshifts when coming to a stop. It always *felt* like something was wrong or about to break even though I have heard from several PDK owners that this is normal.

I would not call them "gremlins" but PDK has some major positives and afew drawbacks . Since you are requesting only the negative here goes--
1) Normal Auto is about as boring as Wonder Bread .
2) Sport Auto has an awful downshift to 1st gear .
3) Sport Auto which is ideal for the highway ought to be able to remain in 7th gear at 55 MPH . It does until the slightest blip sends it to 6th .
These are not errors but in my opinion basic traits that i don't like.
The positives far outweigh them though.
