fair price for 05 C2 cab

22k miles, arctic silver with stone gray top and interior, bose, sport chrono, PSM, 6 speed, bose, colored crests on wheels, 18 inch carrera wheels, just thru the cpo process. Asking $46,991 -seems good as is cpo with 2 yr warranty.

Let me know,
Mark

This looks pretty good . I found the car based on your description -2 owners , all work done at the same dealership . First owner drove it , second looks like a garage queen. They apparently kept the car rather than auctioned it out (good sign) .

It does have a minor open recall .
I see no service history but it had to have had a full inspection to get CPO'd so mybe carfax is not updated .

Here's what you need .
1) You need a DME scan to detect engine over rev history .
2) Service records .

CPO , 22K miles , same dealership, clean car ... They priced it well . Low 40's ought to bring it home.

Congrats in advance.

Thanks,

Any advice on 3rd party inspection? I'm especially interested in paintwork/bodywork and don't know how porsche is with the CPO process.
Would the dealership do the DME?
Long distance purchase - any advice on transportation?

How well do you know the dealership and will you be servicing the car there ? I see that you list youself in Indiana . CPO would still be valid on out of state purchase so it really comes down to your confidence level in the seller . I don't know anyone in that region . If you have doubts .. and it is a 5 year old car .. any inspection to reassure is worth it.

I would not even consider negotiating on a used 5 year old car without a DME . Some dealerships are not confortable with it as it is a detailed readout of the car's engine revs and it also takes up a service tech's time (on a sale which may or may not happen) . Nonetheless it is important info .

Transport -dealership ought to know of a closed transport . Forum member jjs4cab has bought a few out of state cars . I have never done it but if I did I would ask him about the process.

I don't know the dealer at all. I'd be servicing the car in my home state. But, it is a CPO - maybe I'm putting too much weight on that. I'll check on the DME. They did say they have shipped so I'll check with them and others.

CPO for all manufacturers means the car has been inspected and has not had a "major" accident. It could have had panels repainted.

The common wisdom is that even with CPO you still want to get a independent inspection. CPO is not as comprehensive as the original factory warranty so there could be things wrong that you would be out $'s to fix. Also a good idea so that the independent can tell you about any paint work.
