Questions on a C4S

Hi guys,

I am finalizing on purchasing the car attached, a '06 C4S but have some questions on it and hoping someone would shed some lights.

1. In C4S-1.BMP, there is a little circle on the front bumper, anyone know what that is?

2. In C4S-2.BMP, I don't see any parking sensors there, is that an option or is that standard?

3. In C4S-3.BMP, that looks like a V1 display embedded on the rear view mirror, has anyone seen that before?

4. In C4S-4.BMP, the wheels are 18", which is weird as I thought the standard on the S are 19" Sports Chrono, not the 18?

Thank you for your time! Hopefully this one goes through!

4) Yes, this car would have come with 19" wheels. Those wheels look like they are from an older 993 model.

2) Rear sensors are an option and they are very obvious on the rear bumper. Your pic does not show that this car has the sensors.

4) Those are definitely not OEM wheels for this car. Don't look right on it either.

Were 18's standard on the "S" model in 2006? I thought that was only on the non "S" and the "S" models got the 19's as standard.

Good eye and it is. The price is amazing for how much I got it for. I've been looking for a 997 S for a while and came across this car this weekend and made the deal today.

I am still skeptcial about the car because of the "too good to be true" feeling, so it's good to hear positive feedback about that dealership.

Buckwheat,

Thanks for the warning, but could you elaborate on that? I did look at the Carfax which listed one accident on the right side. I then called Manhattan Motors Cars which did the work and they said it was cosmetics only with no mechanical work done. Is that what you were refering to?

Thanks!

The wheels may be off a 996 C4S or TT, which came with 18" turbo rims. Your car would have had 19" originally, but many people prefer 18" for a nicer ride. I agree that they don't look right on this car.

Parking sensors were an option. Not many P-cars have them.

Guys,

Thanks for the tips on the wheels and the options. I don't know why the previous owner put those on there and agree they look out of place. I figure if that's the only thing wrong with the car, it's an easy fix, so I didn't let it deter me...

Good approach. Wheels are so easy to replace. Take a look at some nice light weight HRE's or Champions. For around $3000 +/- you can get some gorgeous used wheels.

I am pretty sure that's the consealed display only for the V1, I wonder if the actual unit is installed with the car.

Is that the OEM mirror though?

The wheels are from a 993 series Turbo. The ones from a 996 Turbo are different as well as the 996 C4S Turbo look wheels. I agree with you that they don't look right with the car.
