Can a car be *too* black
Looking for some opinions before i do it...
I have black on black 997 C2S. Currently have carerra classic wheels. One rim is in need of some repair, so i'm thinking of getting all of them powdercoated matte black. I'm worried the car may be too black? Although the red calipers may give it give it some color.
So the options are:
1. Powdercoat 'em black
2. Powdercoat a different color, like gunmetal
3. Powdercoat black and paint edge or the rim a different color, like red or silver.
any other thoughts?

Me too... I really don't get the trend of black wheels. In some instances they look good, but most of the time the detail of the wheel is lost....
...or I guess they just remind me of the junkers driving arround with missing wheel covers and black steel wheels.
My $.02

I am a black fanatic. This is my 3rd blk/blk in a row and 1 out of 3 black cars I currently own. However it stops there w/ me. I prefer alloy, especially the way they pop out at you against the black!

I have all three types and I prefer the black look more. I dunno....maybe because I think of my car as a serious track car and not really a street car anymore? My silver wheels will be painted this winter because the look just doesn't work for me. My street wheels are a custom paint job with highly reflective paint that was dusted on, fading from a little in the center of the wheel to lots on the outer lip, giving the look of a polished lip, especially when driving.
Pics:
Black anodized: (don't like powdercoated wheels)
Clear anodized over aluminum:
Custom painted (a few pics because the look really changes based on lighting):

My car is black/black with medium tint and had powdercoated black 'Lobster Forks' on it when I got it. They're yours for a great price if you want them! :-) I've since switched them out for Champion Motorsport RS97s. I'm ok with the black wheel look, but personally I'd only do it with a wheel that has a chrome lip. The red calipers did stick out, but the solid black look was just too much. I asked several friends for *honest* opinions and it was about 50-50.
