Not even comparable to me- A Corvette- BMW M6- AM Vantage- much more similar driving experience.
Are you saying that M6 is more comparable to a Porsche or to CLK BS?

CLK BS is around 400lb lighter than M6 and seems to beat the BMW in every performance test. Also Mercedes seems to have way less body roll.
I haven't driven either but M6 to me is extremely ugly and CLK BS just looks good. I'd pick it over the M6, Aston or Vette anyday
I wonder how many criticizing the benz actually have experience driving one. I've PMed with a couple owners and they were extremely satisfied with it.

I have 59000 miles on my 997, 5 track days, numerous canyon runs and autocrosses and not a single problem. I don't believe that could be said
about the other cars metioned on this thread. How about the way a car ages, a 997 will look just as good 10 years from now, a 10 year old Aston Martin, BMW, or Covette does not nearly age as well.

I'm with you on the timeless looks of the 911, and have never seen an AM that I didn't think was beautiful. And the 60's Vettes are still working for me - nothing past that. BMWs just look strange lately - I hope they get a handle on that - the Z8 was a good-looking car as is the 507 it echoes.

Guess I blocked a few decades out of my mind - 'nuff said.
