Hi !
Finally joined this amazing forum! ive been lurking around for some time now(6 months) so i guessed its about time...
My name is Rashed, im from Dubai, cant get enough of cars , and recently got a 2009 Carrera S PDK(was gonna go for manual in the beginning). Anyways i decided to begin my first post with something useful. ive been reading around and it seems that there are quite some issues regarding the new DFI motors. mainly being the carbon build up in the exhaust tips and the excessive oil consumption. Ive driven my car for 10464 KM and used exactly 4.5 quarts of mobil 1 0w-40. Oil consumption is getting better i guess( ive driven the car hard from the beginnig and continue to do so). in the last 2000KM i changed my driving habits a bit, mainly staying out of 7th gear as much as possible since i read somewhere that these engines seem to run rich on low rpms and thus causing the sooty tips. The soot isnt completely gone, however i THINK its not as bad as it used to be(ill be sure to update once the car collects more milage)
now, the car
Carrera S 2009/PDK
Bassalt black
Carrera red interior (pictures wont do it justice, trust me)
turbo wheels
carbon steering wheel, center console, illuminated door sills
sports chrono package
and lots of other goodies
Also installed the fabspeed carbon air intake that i got through rennsport-1 (Justin provided amazing service). i installed it myslef(very simple). it adds a grunt to the exhaust sound. very good quality and fitment(no CEL or anything). Also recently wraped the car in matt black foil since the weather here in dubai is very dusty and no detailing product can keep up with it(plus it just looks soo mean now ).
some pics(before matt black foil and tint, ill make sure to add some later) :

Welcome to the family Rashed! The car looks great, I think the interior is a nice change of pace from the standard colors most have on their P-cars.
Enjoy her!

Welcome Rashed!
Tips for the track? Like any new thing, get taught! Clubs or tracks in the area will provide instructors. Listen to them because you'll pick up a little something from everyone. I've recently been exposed to the track and am amazed at how much of a science it is! Leave your ego home, listen to your instructors, be safe and HAVE FUN with a very capable and beautiful machine!
I love the black on red...very aggressive! Congrats!
