GREAT JOB on a nice CAR…

I know when you covert the tail light from 997 to the 997.2 there is a control unite has to be connected ..
And since I have the same front bumper I was thinking to take it to a body shop and have the 997.2 light fits on my current front bumper, but I wonder if I get the 2ed generation front led from the dealer do I have to install this control unit as well

Can the Porsche 997.2 LED lights be simply added to a 997 if you add the front facelift (without any big mods to the 997.2 front end)?

What does the 997.2 facelift run for my 06?

thanks

Hi, if your car is a 2007my spec then you do not need to replace the rear control unit as this can be used for incandescent or led just needs programming with a Piwis, its the same unit as the gen2s, as for the front you need a new control unit and the loom needs hacking and pins changing in the new control unit to give you the drl feature then it needs to be programmed to your car again with a Piwis, a lot of hassle but the rewards are well worth it, it took me about 6 months before i found somebody able to do it and i posted messages on various forums worldwide but had no response, i guess if anybody knows how to do it they want paying for the information, the guy who did mine didnt let me see how he did it so im sorry i cant give you any instructions, good luck
Regards Tim

Cheers jay, back bumper was a little tricky as at the time of the conversion the turbo gen2 led bumper was not available, basically i bought a damaged gen2 bumper off ebay and had the top half cut off it and plastic welded to the gen1 turbo bumper, most people who have done the rear conversion have just had the appetures around the lights reshaped with filler, however as the bumper gets hot the filler sinks and cracks so i took the harder option but as you say looks dope,

Hi yes no body mods on front just original parts needed and a good electrician with a Piwis to reprogramme the new control unit for you, all just bolt on, the led lights in the uk were £125 each
