Thumbs up Nurburgring Nordschlief Adventure

Followed my Porsche Museum and factory tour I rented a car and headed to Nurburg.

Spent 2 days and 2 nights, it was alot of fun.

The town of Nurburg and surrounding areas are very attractive and charming.

However, the recent blatant commercial transformation at the GP track in Nurburg was surprising - looks like they are trying to turn it into an amusement park, so stay in the village, you can walk everywhere!

If anyone has any more specific questions, please PM me.

Adventure at Nurburgring

Hello Joe,

I was there 3 weeks ago. It was 6 centigrade at 08:30 and the track was wet.

I shat a brick quite a few times because the track is full of very exciting traps such as blind decreasing radius downhill turns and is variably slick depending on where you are.

I rented a Renault Clio, which was plenty, from RSR. I would not suggest renting a trick high HP car unless you are an expert driver.

Alot of guys end up wadding their cars there who have ideas in their head that they are going to rail in a few laps.....Locals in econoboxes regularly smoke hot shot Dieter types in their GT3s and R8s, so it pays to be low key.

Recommendations
Check the weather, stay at AM Tiergarten (get steak on hot rock at Pistenklause), walk to RSR and pick-up car and be flexible.

PM me for more specifics if needed -

Wow! Those photos were great. Thanks for sharing your experience. This is something I'd like to do, but I think I'd pay to be a passenger instead of rent a car to drive myself!

Thanks for the great write-up and pics. Went to Munich a few months ago and down to Austria. Wish we had a few more days and gone to Nurburg.

How did you get Sabine to take pics in the shop?
