30,000 mile inspection/service/end of warranty

I am closing in on my 30,000 mile tune-up/service/inspection, which is also at the end of my warranty period.

Two questions:
- what is the approximate cost of the 30k service

- do you have any recommendations on items I should particular look for because the warranty period ends? I have not noticed any issues with the car, all systems work perfect (after having it for two months).

- would you take it for the service to Porsche because of the warranty still on or would you take it to the top independant service station that will cost only a fraction of what the official Porsche guys (Gaudin Porsche Las Vegas) are charging (FYI - Carl's Place in Las Vegas has been servicing nothing but Porsche for 30years, the owner is the president of the Nevada Porsche Club, had my previous cars there for years and they were great)

Personally, I would take it to the Indie and have it checked out before the warranty is gone. If they find anything you can bring it in for warranty repair. Have you considered an aftermarket plan?

I thought about it briefly, but this is my third Porsche and I never really had any problems (other than a preproduction model Cayenne which was a lemon).

How much do they run, what do they cover?

Varies. Thru dealer I must purchase before oem warranty expires. Talk to your salesman and run search for starters. I have seen prices in the $1k-$2k range for 2-3 years. Main concern is, or course, the motor.
