997.2 PSE and X-pipe ?

I know I am beating this exhaust thing to death. But I was wondering if anyone here with the 997.2 PSE has added a x-pipe to the equation. And, how it turned out. Also, does the regurlar x-pipe (Fabspeed, Shark Werks, AWE Tuning, etc.) even fit on the PSE system?

Thanks in advance for your generous and informative responses.

Guess what....... I will let you know next Thursday.

I have the X-Pipe on mine now, and ehh the sound is a little nicer, I do feel more response but, long-story-short..........way way far below what I wanted. Now, two weekends ago I flagged down a guy with 997.2 PSE and it was outstanding!

I pretty much am not gonna go the try numerous configs out, and the PSE sound was so good, I'm thinking with XPipe should be a tad better all-around. (And if not I can always put the primary back on).

So next Thrusday, 3/11, she'll be getting it installed @ Hennessy. What I will do then is add it to the clip I have on youtube now (search under kaamacat) of just the xpipe difference.

I went with Agency Power from Vivid racing. The exhaust includes new mufflers and a secondary bypass for a price close to the latter alone. I'll be getting it tuesday, hopefully, and eventually I'll install it. I'll add some vids at that time. Meanwhile, take a look at their product.

Thumbs up Fvd has new headers, x-pipe with cats for .2 pse

I have been talking with Rhonda at FVD, board sponsor, about replacing the OEM headers and primary muffler with custom headers and a X-pipe with cats that will bolt up to my OEM PSE system. Yesterday she advised me they developed it and it is now available for sale on their site: http://www.fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/-/...atatytics.html
It looks great and claims +23 hp and +22 tq. for the 3.8L engine.
I would bet the sound, with a push of the button, will be fantastic.

Do you think you will have a warranty issue adding the Agency system?
John, I am concerned with warranty, however, adding headers and xpipe/cats, should not cause a problem with any engine functions. My dealer installs third party exhaust systems and says it will not affect the warranty. The dealer said upgrading the car's software would void the warranty so I do not plan on using a software upgrade at this time.
FVD says just adding the hardware will provide the sound and increase in HP/TQ but should not cause any issues with warranty. I know, they are not PCNA.
I would appreciate any input from board members on the warranty vs adding exhaust hardware mods.

What I heard from two dealers here is simple, if you replace the mufflers you lose warranty on them or any piece replaced, hence my money spent on the Agency System. The software change is fully reversible. So, although I might have warranty issues, they are somewhat limited.
Now, if you touch the cats or headers, you lose warranty in the whole engine. That's not me, just what they said, which IMHO actually makes sense.
I doubt anyone here will get PCNA to repeat this statement. I'll bet you that if they need to have something in paper, it will be "if you sneeze on a non-Porsche spec tissue, you lose the warranty in your car". Or, "Don't change, or even stare at your car for too long under risk of voiding the warranty". When i comes to money, they will find excuses to make you pay.

Curiosity, if you use slick tires on a track day you might lose the engine warranty...

Outstanding sound!!!

Just came back from getting the car. The PSE came with a totally new set of switches/panel, adding the "OO" to the right of SPORT and shock pic.... The normal sound with the XPipe is a bit nicer than before, but, whith PSE on, MAN IM IN WUVVVV!

Hennessy did an outstanding job on the install. (Now just need to go back and pick-up the old secondaries and tips).

We've had a few guys do that now and I'll try and get clips but they do seem to like it

Will do on Sunday once the weather clears.......I'll probably tack them onto the tail of my current youtube so you should see/hear:
1) Stock
2) Stock w/FS XPipe
3) Stock PSE(off) w/FS XPipe
4) Stock PSE(on) w/FS XPipe

(Some pics below of the secondaries, parts, and on their lift)
What you may notice in the parts-pic, in the back-left, is the new lower PCM control
switch set that comes with the upgrade based on your current setup. In my case it added
the on/off for PSE, 3rd switch from left.

KaamaCat, your new conversion looks great and from what you say the sound with PSE on must be fantastic.
It looks like you have the Fabspeed Xpipe, is that correct? How many miles did you put on the Xpipe? I noticed the Stainless has turned a nice color to match the cats/headers. Any problems with the install to the new factory PSE mufflers?
I have factory PSE and I just ordered the same Xpipe and air intake.
Appreciate your input.
Enjoy the new sound.

I kept the XPipe on there when I took the car in, and the PSE matched up to it perfectly. There is no-doubt that the sound, even with PSE off sounds better than the stock mufflers.

As for miles on the XPipe, I am thinking about 1500miles. I would say that most (99.9%) would think I'm nuts for adding the PSE (considering the price), but, each person likes their own sound........this is exactly what I wanted! (Plus, you just don't have that many factory PSE units out there, and down-the-road should be a plus keeping the car basically stock)
