Hi guys: Fantastic forum; just trespassed the site a couple of days ago and fell in love with it. I am in the market for a new Carrera 4 S cpe with PDK. I want the best deal, hence want to go with any remaining '09's, hoping that the dealers would want to offload any remaining '09's as they try to make room for their 2010's. I understand that the inventory may be very limited if I restrict myself to just the dealers nearby. I live in Seattle but am willing to travel anywhere for a better spec'd vehicle with my choice of colors. How do I go about my search on the inventory. Is the best way just to go the porsche website and keep clicking on each dealer's website or are there any other websites such as autotrader, cars.com. Also what type of deal can I expect on the '09's? Thanks in advance.

Welcome 2 the 6666666 man. Im on the East Coast and have not seen any C4S Coupes 09 or 10s in my area. See alot of C2S. I dont know abt the WC there. But I would think Cali has some options.
As far as deals ppl on here a couple of months ago were getting crazy deals on new 911s some 20k off MSRP but heard Porsche was back to good monthly numbers so dont know how the deals are now. Anyway great bunch of guys on this forum that will help so im sure youll find sumthn and GL

I just got $20K off (about 18% off MSRP) on an '09 C2S Cabrio a couple of weeks ago (plus a great lease money factor and a very strong trade-in), so there should still be some fantastic deals on existing '09 inventory. I think the Porsche website only has the detailed search for pre-owned cars at dealers rather than new, but there are a couple of dealer sales reps on this board that can help you locate something that you'd consider buying. Good luck and you will NOT regret it!!!

Just bought a C4S with PDK in October, and I looked at pretty much all the inventory out there. I think the best discounts were actually to be had in September when the trunk money amount was larger for the dealers, but there are still certainly good deals out there. For your reference I was able to get 16% off MSRP. But other members on the board reported discounts of over 20% off MSRP.
In my research I found that there are still quite a few of the Meteor Grey C4S Launch Cars with PDK and Sport Bucket Seats.
Here are are few options I found on the West Coast:

I was right at 18% off in Sept. They did have strong sales in Sept/Oct which may have cleared a lot of 09 inventory. I too was looking at C4S with PDK and they sold 2 out of the 4 they had (at my dealer) the day before I went in. I ended up getting a C2S as it pretty match had everything I wanted. Only real advantage in So Cal for the 4S is looks IMO. And the 4S does looks sweet. You can get a screaming deal on the launch car (Meteor) with bucket seats - at least 20%+ off.
BTW - its an awesome car. Has exceeded my expectation in every way - performance is quite a step up from my/the previous one. I love PDK.

I definitely think you have more choices with PDK . . . I have been looking for a six speed and while there are a few well optioned cars out there that interest me, no one is really willing to make a deal that has me pulling the trigger.
As was mentioned, it definitely seems there were better deals in September, but you think these dealers would want to move these remaining cars . . .

I got 20 percent off in July . I don't think you will get that price if you buy out of region . Dealerships prefer to sell a car which can be serviced in house and even traded in to be CPO'd in the future . So if you buy a car out of state you indirectly inhibit the longevity of their profit.
However .. a guy did fly out to my region and picked up a beautiful Turbo at 15 percent off . You can try between 15-20 percent and see how it goes . You are on the other side of the map but if you have no success closer to your area I'd be glad to give to a referral in my region .
Good luck.

Thank you all for the valuable input. I really appreciate the time taken by you to share your experiences. After going through all the inventory for a new C4S equipped with PDK from west coast all the way up to the midwest, I finally narrowed it down to a GT silver/dark grey natural leather (full leather interior) which is actually just two hours from where I live.
The other specs on the car are as follows:
ECB- PDK Gear Selector/Handbrke Alu
XSB- Sport Seat Backs in Leather
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
CPT - Storage Bin Lid W/Porsche Crst
XMZ - Rear Center Console - Leather
CDA - Air Vent Slats Aluminum Look
24905 - Rear Side Panel Dev.Stitching
24904 - Dev.Stitching Side Centr Cnsl
24903 - Door Handle Stitching Dev.Clr.
24902 - Door Stitching in Dev. Color
24891 - Stitching F/R seats Dev. Color
998 - Leather Interior Natural Lthr
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
030 - PASM Sports Suspension
24901 - Dashboard Stitching Dev. Color
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
603 - Dynamic Cornering Lights
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
672 - Navigation Module for PCM
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
619 - Bluetooth Phone Interface
XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest
P01 - Adaptive Sport Seats
870 - Universal Audio Interface
The car is MSRP'd at $125K and am looking at a 12% off the sticker price. The car as you can see is fully loaded and has $ 10 K worth of stuff that really would not add too much (in my opinion) to the actual reason why someone buy's a porsche. These incluse the deviated stitching package, sport seats back in leather, porsche crests in various places and adaptive sports seats. I suspect that this car was custom built and the buyer would have backed off after placing the deposit. The salesman that I am working with is a great guy and I feel that I've established a good working relationship with him. There is not really much inventory left for a well optioned 09 C4S from what I've seen.
I will be visiting the dealer this weekend again to see if I can get an additional 1-2 % off since I will also be getting the tire/wheel protection plan which will add up to the cost. I was not willing to go above $105K
when I started my search but now this will run me up nother 5K. I am still undecided whether to pull the trigger on this one or wait another few months to a year for a well optioned C4S PDK to show up in the used car market. I do not need a car for the next 8 to 10 months with my current situation but would not want to lose out on the oppurtunity for a very good deal.
I plan to hold on to this car as a collectible for a loooong time (despite it being my daily driver except for winter time with snow/slush on the road). If money is not a concern would you go for it or wait another 6 to 12 months for the used car segment. I am not sure at this point. The car is obviously sitting there not being taken since it is heavily optioned, if
I can knock off another $ 1 to 2 K off then I know that the salesman also cares for me and will pull the trigger this weekend. Otherwise I dont know maybe look at some inventory on the east coast dealer websites or wait for some used cars. I really like to give the local guys business especailly since I will be taking the car there forservice. I am also hoping that they reciprocate with an additional $ 1 to 2 K off. I desperately need your advice in these fronts. 1. What do you think about the car and what would you all do.... wait, look on the east coast, bargain for more or pull the trigger. Thankyou in advance for the replies.

Beautiful car! Love the dark grey natural leather. You should be able to get them to come down a little more on the price, as I am pretty sure the trunk funds are still available from Porsche (I think $10k in Nov for a C4S).
You will love it!

12% seems like not so great a deal especially as you point out that a lot of the cost of the car is "fluff". And it's now a YO car. People have been getting closer to 20% off. On that car, many of those options will add nothing to resale, so you are just eating them. Sounds like a great car, but they aren't cutting you enough slack yet. Maybe work up an offer of 18% off, have your financing in place when you walk in the door so there's nothing but one number to think or talk about - the price - don't get side-tracked - stay on that number. If you had to settle for 15% - ouch, but 12% - no way.
