Yikes!!!!

In order to fit both cars in my garage and have enough room to open the doors with somewhat ding free ease I back one in and the other goes in nose first . The one which is backed in goes first and I place it as close to the wall as possible . Each time I park it I feel like a gymnast or diver where afterwards my girlfriend rates the park with a score on a scale of 1 to 10. This one is a 10. and I have consistently gotten 8 and 9 scores. (btw --the scrape on the drywall is from juggling assorted stock parts making extra room over the years) .

I get nervous just looking at it .

I could never go ahead and park the car that close. I would be terrified of scraping the side against the wall!

I think you should put some foam cardboard or something on the wall

It's a tight squeeze . This is what it looks like on a typical park . On that day the Turbo was in "the spot" . I got pretty good at parking having grown up in New York City . As a young person in college I became amazed at the skill of some of the talented parking garage attendants . There were guys who parked cars for 30+ years who could drive a car in reverse down a ramp and plant it in a tight spot in one swift manuver .

I considered enlarging the garage but the expense and headache have never been worth it . I simply had not parked two cars in it until now and that may change over time . Sometimes I consider getting a small place in So California and even if I don't I am not sure what cars I will have in the future . I actually get amused and entertained parking the cars . It's become a hobby -- kinda like posting.

Both places have so much to offer and beyond eathquakes and hurricanes . Look at how beautiful those roads were on your driving thread plus we got the beaches here (water temp is still near 80) . We also have 93 octane and lots of driving events (which you might like) . You have the beauty of the PCH and summer temps are like our winter .

The PDK car woild be ideal for So cal driving too.

I do not complain about living out West. My point was that things move a bit out here and I would be nervous to park a car so close to a wall like that.

So... if you plan moving West, pick a wide garage as priority 1. Also, NorCal has more roads of the kind we like, nearby, than SoCal.

Definitely a 10. Looks like a lift might fit in that garage, allowing you to stack. Then you could fit 4!

Oh, yes, that is a ten.

My garage is wide enough to open both doors, but it does make me nervous opening the door. The foam on the wall is a good idea, sounds like another trip to Lowes this afternoon.

Growing up in South Louisiana, my best experience of tight parking was squeezing 3 cars into a 2 car garage before Hurricane Andrew. The major difference being that we didn't have any Porsches in the house then, just a Plymouth minivan, Buick Regal and Nissan Sentra!

That's amazazing !! I would be soooo nervous to attempt, but like you said, if this is what you're use to, you get pretty good at it over time; you're proof of that.

I would, though, have to put some protective covering on the wall just as added protection.

You bring life to carnastics!

This is the fundamental problem with most houses in South Florida (see red circle in picture). The builder gives NO room on the sides of the garage... I have the same issue cramming 3 cars in my 3-car garage. My daily driver gets the "back in" spot. I would have gladly incurred the cost of an extra 2 feet on each side....
