Any help - I'm trying to pinpoint a rubbing noise in pass. rear

I am trying to locate a noise that started a month ago and hasn't gone away at all. It's not a clunk, or a rattle, but more a rubbing noise like leather on leather. It's slightly high pitched and very short/quick. Its definitely coming from the passenger side in the rear 1/2 of the car. It's constant in that it doesn't matter what the weather is, or how long I've been driving. The noise occurs very easily. You don't need to hit a bump, even a significant dip in the pavement will trigger it. So it happens very frequently.

I can't get back there while someone drives the car b/c I'm too big. I moved the passenger seat all the way up. I'm nearly certain its not the pass. seat or belt. Next step will be to remove the rear seat and seat back. But my gut tells me its in the rear shelf or the rear side window. Do those window seals ever make noise? The car is only a few months old?

Thanks for any help with this.

Regards,
David

It maybe the plastic of the airbag cover on the passenger seat rubbing the leather. I had the same noise tonight when I took the car out for a spin and heard the noise. Pressing the airbag cover against the side of the seat silenced the noise. I gently hit the plastic cover with my palm a couple of times and it's gone away now.

Try pushing on the sunroof either from the inside or outside and see if that reproduces the sound. Many people experience a similar sound as the sunroof seal dries out. It also sounds as if it is coming from the rear passenger side window (ask me how I know )
