New clutch

Guys,

Today the clutch on my 2005 997S went bad (21K mile ).
(Pedal is half has hard to depress, the bite point is a inch higher and I have some slippage at high gears...)
So in preparation for its replacement I am looking for alternative to the OEM clutch.
Do you guys have some recommendation on brands / model ?
Is SPEC stage 3 any good on the 997 ?

Thanks!

Sev

PM Cattman,

I think he is running a Sach's clutch and AWE LWFW and is VERY happy with both!
PM him,I am sure he can confirm.

Yes he is, I have the LWFW with the OEM clutch, and if you swap the clutch, change the fly wheel. The mod is awesome for improving the cars acceleration.

No, it's from Aasco. Check Sharkwerk, AWE, RSS, GMG. They all have it.

+1 the Aasco is pretty much the one that everyone sells.

I would stick with OEM then . I also would ask your service advisor about some type of goodwill assistance with warranty on a clutch with only 21K miles because they are supposed to last longer .

I upgraded my Turbo clutch (stage 3) when jumping up to 700Hp and the change was significant . Now of course it would be much less of a drastic change with a 997S but the OEM 997S clutch is one of the smoothest , chatter free, pleasantly engaging clutch in a car of this caliber .
