Our X Pipe is not designed like everyone elses, our pipes have a much bigger raduis U bend at the X with a small talk area in between. This increases the High pressure at the inside of the bend and low pressure on the outside so it creates the perfect scavenging affect to pull exhaust gases out of the engine faster. That is why our X Pipe makes more HP and TQ and creates a better unique sound. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
I like your product, only grudge I still have and do not really understand is why your x-pipe and mufflers are not set to be the same pipe length so one could mount stock mufflers instead of your maxflo mufflers if one would want such a thing.

It is a major PITA as my wife still gives me hard time over how laud my car is and as to swap mufflers would be very simple task it would be much better if stock mufflers and maxflo mufflers would have same mount pipe length and would not require x-pipe cats pipes to be cut. It just seems very odd to me why it was done like that originally, as all other dimensions on your products do match stock perfectly.

After full adaption though you give some of the gains back...If you go to the same dyno they can correct for any differences in atmospheric conditions. Look forward to your results..

100% agree. Also considering this time of year around here, I also want to make sure the overall temps are about the same. (ie. Don't wanna take it in where its showing 45f out, then back on a day when its 70f out). I'd like the tests to be as-close-as possible with the outside environment. I will wait for lets-say 100miles+ on the car before a return trip.

Fabspeed has dual tone mufflers with an easy swap from loud to quiet. That might be your answer.

Nah, to buy yet another muffler set would be ridiculous, I`m not a mufflers collector. Plus, to buy OEM mufflers that will be same quiet as stock mufflers - what`s the point? Still, I find origin of this problem to be extremely odd.

I also had a 2003 996 C4S with PSE and I think it sounded much deeper and "throatier" than my 997.2 C4S with the Fabspeed X-Pipe. This video you posted with the 997.2 with the X-Pipe does sound a little bit louder than mine, but I think that is probably due to difficulty getting an accurate sound out of a video/audio recording. I still maintain that my sound with my X-Pipe is hardly any louder than stock, especially at idle and low RPM. At higher RPM and WOT it is probably more "refined" and more "Euro" sounding than stock, but just barely. Still not loud and mean enough for me. Hope that helps.

On a side note. You'd be suprised how hard it is to find a dyno place that is still in business, or answers their phone these days.

Here we go. Mounted the X-Pipe and took a before and after video clip. Both days the temp was about the same, both clips are after the car has been warmed up. Both were various revs ultimately to just 4000rpm. (not much but you will hear for yourself). The X-Pipe does have a different sound at idle, and you can hear a snappier rasp in the revs.........

** I did not get the dyno pulls before for various reasons that the places close to me, well......One place had a mechanic that only works till noon. The other said they might be able to squeeze me in......"may".......and the one I had planned to use was away at a some show in Florida. I guess they must all be doing quite well. Purely amazing **
