new clutch on a 16k mile car
I'm looking around for a s cab and I've seen one with 16k miles and already had a clutch done. I've heard exotics like lambos need new clutches in ridiculously short periords of time, but didn't think that happened to low mile porsches. Is that a sign of track, heavy heel and tow or abuse?
I've never put a clutch in a stick car, (and I have a stingray and older ferrari and I had an alfa as a DD and never ever had a clutch problem) then I don't race or abuse the my cars.
so is this normal, new clutch within the first 20,000 miles?

heck no...I am no expert, but I have heard that even if you "beat up on these clutches," they should last 40-50K miles if you drive them like "normal, I have heard 60-80 is routine something amiss there

1- Car wash
2- Valet
3- Bad driver
4- Track days
These are all possible scenarios for the clutch to wear down...

my buddy has 20,000 miles where half are track miles and no problems.....just some people ride the clutch a lot... is a consumable part and can be replaced not a big deal.
get a ppi and dme scan thats what tells you more

A car that's had a clutch replaced is not necessarily one to run away from. There are many reasons for a clutch needing to be replaced, including one particularly bad valet, wife on a hill, etc. Once it's been replaced, the abuse was cured. I wouldn't worry about it.

+1! It is a part that can be screwed up pretty easily... But can be taken care of without a problem by replacing the unit
