About 3 months ago a teenage boy backed his bronco into my fender. His bronco had some white paint on his bumper but no damage. My fender was rubbing the tire so I had to pry it away from the tire and I was able to drive slowly to the body shop.

The body shop replaced and painted the new fender. They had to remove the clear bra from the hood and bumper to match the paint color. Picked the car up on a Friday (10 days in shop) and examined the fender under a magnifying glass. They did a great job on the fender but one problem. Some over spray got on my tailpipe and rear bumper. So back to the shop to get the over spray removed. I was a little ticked that they did not do a walk-around inspection before giving me the car back. That incident taught me a lesson to do my own walk-around inspection whenever I pick up the car.

Had to wait 2 months for the paint to cure before installing the clear bra. The new bra looks great. Finally my car is whole again and looks just as if nothing happened.

Why did they paint near the exhaust? Wasn't the damage in the front fender?

 

The damage was to the front fender and yet the left tailpipe and a small area of the bumper got a light coating of overspray. Apparently that area was not masked off. They were able to clean the overspray off with a claybar.
