Radio (PCM) on 06 Carrera S

Question for you:

Found out yesterday to my great delight that the CD player inside the car can play MP3s - thus potentially saving me the $600 to upgrade to a iPod module.

But, could not play MP3s from the 6 Disc Changer.

Would anyone know if this is my stupidity of doing something wrong or does it simply not have the capability?

Tks

It does not have that capability.

I thought that writing a bunch of MP3's to CD was the answer as well, then the iPod kits were released, and once I installed it, I realized that there is no way I would have been happy doing with out it. Spend the $600 and get the kit, you won't regret it.

i would say for $600 you will be better with mobridge which has both ipod and bluetooth. just search around for best price. I found it for $550. regular price is $850 i guess.

I spent 2 years dealing with burning and swapping CD's, and finally got the Dension Gateway 500 so I can use my iPod. Then added the BT1500 to integrate Bluetooth. Made a world of a difference, and wish I'd done it sooner. It was cathartic to clear all the CD's out of my car!

not to mention ability to navigate same playlists/albums/artists same way as it was configured for ipod. that convenience costs that much money for sure, plus, it is not that much money after all.
